Two businessmen{#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (fly) to Australia to play in a weekend golf match. Their team won and they both received green jackets. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}their last night in Australia, they stayed up late drinking beer. They were still drunk in the morning, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}they drove their rented car to the airport. The road was empty. Suddenly, something jumped in front of the car. The driver couldn't stop in time and the car hit it.

    The men got out of the car and found a large kangaroo{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  (lie) on the road. The drunken men began to laugh and decided to take some photos with the “dead” kangaroo. One of the men decided to put the jacket on{#blank#}5{#/blank#} kangaroo. So they dressed the poor kangaroo in a green jacket. Then they posed with it for some photos. Suddenly, something amazing happened. The kangaroo opened {#blank#}6{#/blank#} eyes. It was not dead. But it was very {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (anger). The kangaroo hit the two men and knocked them out. Then it ran {#blank#}8{#/blank#}.In the kangaroo's new green jacket were the car keys, a passport, and the air tickets.

    Later that day, a motorist phoned the police. “You're {#blank#}9{#/blank#}going to believe this,” he said, “but a kangaroo in a green golf jacket{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (run) along the road to the airport!” The police finally found out the whole story, and they punished the two drunken men.

    Starting in 1972, the National Park Service established a policy for forest fires called Natural Bum. It was true {#blank#}1{#/blank#} some forest fires, such as those which were caused by lightning were necessary for forests{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (keep) balanced ecosystems, so the fire should be allowed to burn{#blank#}3{#/blank#} , a big fire in Yellowstone National Park in 1988 caused this policy to be abandoned (放弃) since the fire was initially allowed to burn yet soon out of control. As a result, the fire of 1988 destroyed much of Yellowstone, which is America's {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(old) and most beloved national park. Massive areas of plants were destroyed, and large empty spaces and acres of burned and blackened trees greeted {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (visit). The rivers and streams were choked with ash, and the ecosystem of the park was changed {#blank#}6{#/blank#} repair.

    In addition, great numbers of animals{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (kill) by the fires that burned out of control. The fires were driven by high winds{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (move) as many as ten miles a day. Many small animals died in the flames. The fires' rapid advances {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (give) the wildlife little chance to escape. Even today, few of these small forest animals have returned to live in the park. In the years immediately following the fires, the numbers of visitors declined{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (rapid).

    Mattie celebrated her 6^th birthday earlier this month. For her birthday, she wanted to do something for other children.

    “We {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (talk) about Mattie's birthday cake when she said that she wanted a big one so no one was hungry at her party,” her mother said. “She didn't want anyone to be hungry and she got big tears in her eyes and asked if we could donate food {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people.”

    For her party, Mattie's friends arrived {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (quick) with gifts, but the packages weren't filled with toys, instead {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (can) and boxes of food. Once her party was over, Mattie, with some help, took {#blank#}5{#/blank#} donations of food to the Maryville Ministry Center.

    Mattie was not the only local child {#blank#}6{#/blank#} recently did so. Her best friend Eliana celebrated her 5^th birthday in February and decided that she wanted to give back as well.

    Mattie and Eliana are still children, though, and enjoy {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (play) with their dolls and stuffed animals just like every other kid does.

    “For being so young, it's a blessing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (have) kids that are living for something more than themselves,” Wall said. “I'm pretty {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (hope) that it will continue over time and it's amazing to see {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (we) kids doing things for others.”

    Are you the first or the last child in your family? Or are you a middle or an only child? Some people think {#blank#}1{#/blank#} matters where you were born in your family. But there are different ideas about what birth order means. Some people say that oldest children,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} are smart and strong - willed，are very likely {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( succeed). The reason {#blank#}4{#/blank#} this is simple. Parents have a lot of time for their first child and give him or her a lot of attention. An only child will succeed for {#blank#}5{#/blank#} same reason.

    What {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(happen) to the other children in the family? Middle children don't get so much attention, so they don't feel that important. If a family has many children, the middle one sometimes gets {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(lose) in the crowd. The youngest child, however, often gets special treatment. Often this child grows up to be funny. They usually follow {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (order). Ruies don't mean much to later children in the family. They take chances and they often do better in life.

    Over the past years Starbucks coffee {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (become) a coffee chain store. The cafes don't sell coffee; they sell {#blank#}2{#/blank#} very atmosphere. They offer customers the perfect atmosphere {#blank#}3{#/blank#} which to take time out and relax. Every single store throughout the world is furnished in a romantic style and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (special) meant to be cozy, private and quiet: earth-toned(褐色调)space, fancy wall paper, lovely paintings,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (amaze) background and irresistible coffee smell…The most fantastic decoration style about Starbucks {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (design) with oversized chairs and tables outside the store. When {#blank#}7{#/blank#} comes to a sunny afternoon, I love to take a seat outside,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (bathe) in the afternoon sunshine, and listening to the lovely music {#blank#}9{#/blank#} tasting the most terrific Cappuccino. This is exactly what I love in here—the Starbucks! This is the cafe I love not merely because of the cafe itself, but also because of the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(feel) it brings me.

    Over the past few days, a young adult, maybe in his early twenties, has been sleeping on the sidewalk in front of a postbox. As {#blank#}1{#/blank#} matter of fact, every time I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (drive) by, I would see him there; one time he seemed {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(lose) in thought. I've offered him a couple of drinks from Starbucks one time and Jamba Juice the other. He {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (polite) accepted both but said very little. For the past two mornings, I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(make) him breakfast at my home and then dropping it off to him {#blank#}6{#/blank#} he slept. This morning, besides food, I added a You Matter card and left him a note just {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (let) him know that someone cares about him. I hope to talk with him some day and hear his story.

    I told my own son about giving the man breakfast. I said, “I hope someone would be kind to you if you were in his position.“ My son responded {#blank#}8{#/blank#} “Thank you.” For me, life is about trying to see others as family, or even as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (I). Even if we are not very {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (wealth), we can help others with our efforts.
