Zhu De was born {#blank#}1{#/blank#} December 1, 1886 to a poor farmer's family in a town in Yilong County, a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (hill) and separate part of northern Sichuan Province. Of the fifteen {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (child) born to the family, only eight survived. His Hakka(客家) family migrated from Hunan Province and Guangdong Province {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Sichuan. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} his family was poor, by pooling(合伙经营) resources, Zhu was chosen to be sent to a regional private school in 1892. At the age of nine, Zhu was adopted by his wealthy uncle, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} political influence allowed him {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (gain) access to Yunnan Military Academy. Later, he attained the rank of Xiucai in 1906, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (make) him qualified as a civil servant. He was admitted into a Sichuan high school around 1907, and graduated in 1908. Consequently, he returned to Yilong's primary school as a gym {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (instruct). He was an advocate(倡导者) of modern science and political teaching, rather than the strict classical education afforded by schools, so he {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (dismiss) from his post and entered the Yunnan Military Academy in Kunming. There, he joined the Beiyang Army and the Tongmenghui secret political society.

    Plus, I lived over two years in China before Jun and I started dating and I {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (expect) to use chopsticks in almost every restaurant, stand and bar. Trust me, when you're hungry you figure out pretty fast what it takes to down (咽下) {#blank#}10{#/blank#} meal with these utensils.

    Here in the US, we say "bless you" when someone sneezes. The same goes for a number of other {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(country), including Wales and France. But {#blank#}6{#/blank#} general it's more common {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (connect) to health than to give blessings. In China, you say, "May you live 100 years!" In Germany, it's simply, "Health!"

    {#blank#}8{#/blank#} do we wish sneezers well? The custom may date back to {#blank#}9{#/blank#}ancient belief. It is said that evil (邪恶的) spirits went out of our bodies during a sneeze - and that these spirits then try to get back in.

    Your nose can produce up to 32 ounces of mucus every day. That's enough mucus to fill more than two soda cans.

    Mucus is {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (usual) clear. If it's green, yellow, or brown, then you might want to see a doctor.

    One day, Nick invited his friends to supper. He was cooking some delicious food in the kitchen. Suddenly, he {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (find) that he had run out of salt. So Nick called to his son, "Go to the village and buy some salt, but pay a fair price for it: neither too much {#blank#}2{#/blank#} too little."
