Many years ago, three young men lived in a village (村庄). They didn't work at all. They often walked in the village and made fun of (取笑) other people.

One day, the three young men were walking on the road. They saw an old man with white hair on the farm. They found he was planting some fruit trees.

A young man laughed at (嘲笑) him and said, "Why are you planting these trees?" The second young man said, "You are so old now. You can't live to eat the fruit."

"Oh, young men, my trees will have fruit after some years. I may not live to eat them, but many others can eat them. This way they can remember me. Many people will remember my work when they see the fruit. But what do you do? How will people remember you?"

The three young men found the old man was right. They knew others will remember them as fools (傻瓜). So they started to work hard.
