I like Saturday and Sunday because I don't have to go to school. 1do my mum and dad. On Saturday and Sunday I do not need to get up 2. Then I eat a light breakfast at about 8: 30. I always finish my homework on Saturday morning. In the afternoon, I do some housework. I also clean my own room and wash my own clothes. I think doing some houseworkis 3. In the evening, my family usually watch TV together and we talk a lot about the TV programmes. On Sunday, my parents and I go to see my grandparents. We go there by bike. It's a kind of good 4.     Tony and Robert are neighbors, so their families sometimes 1 together. One day, Robert asked Tony for some 2, saying that he needed it for a business (生意).

    Did you ever set up a lemonade stand (柠檬水小摊) when you were a kid？ Many of us did and if we were very lucky, we could make enough money to buy ice cream from the Good Humour Truck.

Last Saturday, Jack Yielding, a five-year-old boy from Oakville, Ontario, got $41,233from two lemonade stands and a car charity (慈善) wash. Jack gave the money to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, where Jack who has epilepsy (羊癫疯）, is a patient there.

    This was Jack's second year to host the Lemonade Stand for sick kids, and the whole town came to show their love. More than 1,000people came to the lemonade stands on Saturday.

    "Jack is working hard to turn his lemons into lemonade to help his friends at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children," Jack's mother, Jodi Yielding, told us.

    One day, I was waiting for my friend at the bus station. A man came to sell1and I just smiled and said thank you. I didn't know if it was because of my smile, the young man came closer and stood2me and started talking to me. "You know, I wasn't born like this, selling shoes. I had a family, but one day my life just3upside down and all was gone," he said. He told me that his wife took away all his money, sold his car and the house. It was really a hard time for him and he was4at that time. He had nothing and then5to sell shoes to make a living. I stood next to him and listened, but I was still6how someone could be so open to a total stranger like that. Then I realized that some people get7in that way. We often meet people with troubles in their hearts. For some of them, there isn't anybody to listen to them,8I've learned to be kind to them. I always spare my time to listen to them. By doing this, the one9listens can not only help others but also himself, because he gets to learn something from what others10and see other sides of life. This will make the world a better place to live in for all of us.

     Once there was a good vegetable patch (菜地), and there grew a very big tree. Both the vegetables and the tree 1 the place wonderful. But no one knew that the vegetables in the patch and the tree couldn't 2 each other for a long time. The vegetables didn't like the tree's shade (树荫) because it stopped them from getting enough 3. The tree, on the other hand, hated the vegetables. The 4 was that the vegetables drank nearly all the water before it could get to him, leaving him a little water.

     They kept this situation 5 the vegetables got completely bored with the tree one day. Then they decided to use up all the water in the ground so that the tree would die.

The greatest source of inspiration for me has always been my father. Though he's been gone for 17 years, his 1 still resonate (产生共鸣). He taught me how to run my own race in life. But the most inspiring thing he taught me was to 2.

One incident is 3 in my mind. It happened when I was a teenager. My sister and I weren't very fond of a so-called friend of 4. Dad was a very generous man, and as he'd done with so many people, he'd given this fellow great help. But when he asked for a favor 5, the guy didn't deliver.

Dad's outlook (人生观) on most things was "Live and let live." In this case, however, his calmness 6 Terre and me, and we let him know it.

"How can you be nice to that man?" we said to him. "You've been so kind to him, and he's not being kind back. Why would you want to give him the time of day again?"

My father shrugged (耸肩) and said to us, " I do not bend my back with 7." I didn't get it at first, but over the years I came to understand the 8. Holding a grudge (怨恨) doesn't 9 the person you're angry with, but it changes you. It makes you heavier and gives you more weight to drag around.

After my father died in 1991, a (n) 10 came from a fellow I'd had a quarrel with years before to 11 his sympathy. He wrote: " I thought I'd tell you how sorry I am 12 the loss of your father. I know he 13 the world to you. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts."
