To protect people from COVID-19,many countries are making efforts these days. Here are some special rules in the following countries.
Serbia |
At one point, Serbia's government introduced a" dog-walking hour" from 20:00 to 21:00. But that has now been stopped, because a lot of dog-owners are against it for it is unhealthy for their dogs. |
Panama |
In the Central American country, men and women are able to leave their homes for only two hours at a time, and on different days. No one is allowed to go out on Sundays. "This rule is for nothing more than to save your life." the security minister Juan Pino said. |
Colombia |
In some Colombian towns, people are allowed to go outside based on the last number of their national ID number. For example, people with an ID number ending with 0,7 or 4 are allowed to leave their house on Mondays, while those with an ID number ending with 1,8 or 5 can go outside on Tuesdays. |
Sweden |
The government of Sweden believes that people will do the right things. Gathering* of more than 50 people are not allowed on Sundays but schools for children under the age of 16 remain open. Many people are still meeting friends as usual in the restaurants, on which people both at home and abroad have different opinions. |
Dear Dr Jackson, My parents are never pleased with me. They are always criticizing (批评) my clothes, my hair and the music I listen to. They hate my friends' looks and they keep complaining when I go with them. I'm not allowed to stay out as late as my friends do, so I can't have any fun. My parents only seem to care about my school marks. Although I love them, sometimes I feel we live in different worlds. If they love me, why don't they understand me? Angel |
Dear Angel, Your problem is common to both teenagers and parents. Don't worry, because all this is natural. You see, your parents have grown up at a different time and they have different experiences. So, they think some things are strange, but you find the same things ordinary. For example, the music you like may sound like noise to them. Your parents love you, so they feel they must protect you from whatever they find strange. On the other hand, you don't want to be different teenagers, so you feel that your parents restrict you. I think you should talk about this problem with your parents. Try to explain to them what you want and make them know they can believe you. Sooner or later, they'll find you are a responsible (有责任心的) person and they will give you more freedom. Dr. Jackson |
Mother's Day first began in America. A mother was very kind. After she died, her daughter wanted to remember her so she wanted to make a day for all the mothers. In 1913, America decided to make the second Sunday of May to be Mother's Day and every family had to put up a national flag to show their love to mothers. Later, it became an important festival to remember and praise(赞扬) all the mothers in the world.
In China, some people want to make our own Mother's Day. There is a famous story about Mother Meng. She loved her son very much and did a lot for her son. Chinese people think she was a great mother, so people want to make lunar(阴历的) April 2nd to be the day. Because Mother Meng's son——Mengzi was born on that day.
On Mother's Day, children often help their mothers do some cleaning and they also buy gifts for their mothers. Some mothers even go for a trip and have some other activities to celebrate this day.
