    The girl held out her little hands, saying, "Mum, blow some of your breath of courage to me." After her mother blew out two {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (mouthful) of breath into her cold hands, the little girl clenched her fists(握拳) {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(nervous), worried that the "breath of courage" would run {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.Then with her fists clenched, she walked out of the bedroom 68. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}/tə'wɔ:dz/ the bathroom without fear.

Her mother said to herself, "It will be nice 69.i{#blank#}9{#/blank#}someone can blow some kind of ‘breath' to me. Then I can hold it in my hands whenever I feel terrified or lost."

    {#blank#}10{#/blank#} fact, mostly, what we are terrified of is nothing but the fear in our mind. Who we should defeat(战胜) is nobody but ourselves.

    You asked me to tell you about TV programs here in Spain. Well, there are lots of reality shows (真人秀) and talk shows about {#blank#}1{#/blank#}people here. Soap operas are also popular, either Spanish soaps or the ones {#blank#}2{#/blank#} South America.

    My favorite program is a sports program. Its {#blank#}3{#/blank#}is Football Crazy in English. It's on Sunday. Spanish teams usually {#blank#}4{#/blank#}on that day. The program {#blank#}5{#/blank#}at 7:00 p.m. and finishes at 10:00 p.m. In fact, it is replayed (重播) at 11:00 p.m.,{#blank#}6{#/blank#}I don't watch it then. It's too late, and I have school the next morning.

    Like {#blank#}7{#/blank#} ，lots of people think Football Crazy is more interesting than other football programs. This program is really cool because it tells people what happened in all the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}that weekend. The best thing about the program is that it {#blank#}9{#/blank#}all the goals (进球得分) from every game in Spain.  Also, the hosts always have funny comments (评论) and they often find {#blank#}10{#/blank#} things to show.

    An old woman had a cat. The cat was very old, it could not run quickly, and it could not bite(咬), because it was so old.     There was a grocery shop(食品杂货店) in a town. Plenty of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} lived in that grocery shop. Food was not enough for them. They {#blank#}2{#/blank#} everything and destroyed all the bags. They also wasted the bread, cookies and fruit of the shop.

    The owner of the shop got really {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. He thought, "I should buy a cat and let it stay at the shop. In this way I can save my things." He bought a nice, big fat {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and let it stay there. The cat had a nice time hunting(追捕) the mice and killing them. The mice could not move {#blank#}5{#/blank#} now. They were afraid that anytime the cat would eat them up.

    So the mice had to do something. They {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a meeting and all of them said, "We must kill the cat. Can {#blank#}7{#/blank#} have a suggestion?" All the mice sat and lost in thought. After a while a smart mouse stood up and said, "The cat moves softly. That is the problem. If we can {#blank#}8{#/blank#}a bell around his neck, then things will be fine. We can know {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the cat is coming." "Yes, that is the answer," shouted all the mice. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} old mouse slowly stood up and asked, "Who wilt tie tile bell?" After some moments there was no one there to answer this question.

    Once, in a small village, lived a family with two children, James and Jack. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of them loved painting very much, but the family was so {#blank#}2{#/blank#} that it was impossible to send both of them to study at the art college at the same time. After many discussions, the two boys finally worked {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a plan. They would throw a coin. The loser would go to work in the mines（矿井） to support his brother's studies at the college. Then, when the brother at college {#blank#}4{#/blank#} his studies after four years, he would support the other brother's college studies.

    James {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, and so Jack went down into the mines. James worked with all his heart, and his paintings were soon much {#blank#}6{#/blank#} than those of most of his teachers. By the time he graduated, he was beginning to make a lot of money from his paintings.

    When James returned, the family held a big dinner to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his great success. Soon after {#blank#}8{#/blank#} dinner began, James stood up from his seat to drink a toast to his dear brother. He said, "Jack, now you can go to the art college and your dream will come true. I will take care of you."

{#blank#}9{#/blank#} Jack said softly, "Brother, the four years in the mines has done too much to my hands, so it's too late. Now I can't even hold a glass."

James was heart-broken. One hour {#blank#}10{#/blank#}, he drew a simple picture of his brother's hands. This drawing is today known as the famous picture named The Praying Hands.
