Volunteering takes up our time, energy, and even costs money. It can be hard work. So why should we do it? Well, here  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}some reasons：

Firstly, volunteering is good for  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . The world is not perfect; Many people and animals need help. Secondly, governments try to meet everyone's needs, but it's {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  for them to do all that. Thirdly, if we never

help each other and only care about  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} , the world will be a sad place. If we work together, we can make life easier and happier. But what can we do?

★Bring food to hungry people, and bring comfort {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  happiness to lonely people.

★Make neighborhoods safer and more friendly.

★Protect wildlife and natural areas; help care for pets and wild {#blank#}6{#/blank#}.

At the same time, it is good for us to do volunteering work  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}our society. We can get many benefits like the following through it:

• Get important skills and experience.
• Build confidence and self-esteem（自尊）.
• Feel satisfied after {#blank#}8{#/blank#} other.

Since volunteering is so good for us, for others and for the whole society, why don't we try our {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to do it? If every one of us {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  our love to others, the world will become much better!

    Brian likes jogging (慢跑). He jogs in the park every morning. He always brings five dollars with him. He always buys breakfast for

One day he jogged into the park and another jogger knocked into him. A few minutes{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, he found his five-dollar bill wasn't in his pocket. “The man might be a thief!” He thought, “It must be him that took my money. I must fight against the crime (犯罪)! ”
The man was only 30 meters ahead. Brian ran after him, hit him on the shoulder, and said “Give me the money!”The man was {#blank#}3{#/blank#} , but at last he gave Brian a five-dollar bill. Then he ran away as fast as he could!
Brian felt really good and ran to the shop. He had got his money back. He {#blank#}4{#/blank#} himself a cup of coffee and two hamburgers.
Then he ran back home. His wife was waiting for him. She was shaking her head. “Oh, dear!”she said, "You've had
