Mr. Brown is an American. He is now in Beijing with his family. This is his first visit to China. Mr. Brown and Mrs. Brown are going to stay in China for three weeks. They want to visit some cities and villages. They hope to learn some Chinese, too. Mr. Brown is a doctor. He is going to visit some hospitals in Beijing. Mrs. Brown is a school teacher. She is going to visit some schools. Their daughter is a student. She is going to meet some Chinese students. They are going to take a lot of photos of China. When they are back to America, they are going to show the photos to their friends. They want the American people to know more about China.

    Carmen is a twelve-year-old girl. She has a sister and her name is Kara. Kara is ten years old.

    Tonight, Carmen and Kara want to make dinner for the family. They want to make pizza because all their family like it. They need to buy the ingredients（原料）for the pizza. So, their dad drives them to the supermarket.

    When they get to the supermarket, Carmen and Kara look for the ingredients. Soon they get all of them and go to pay for them. They are 30 dollars.

    They put the ingredients in the car. Their dad drives them home.

    When they get home, Carmen and Kara take the ingredients out of the car. They take them to the kitchen.

    In the kitchen, they clean the vegetables. Then, they cut the vegetables. Next, they take out the crust（面包皮）. They put the ingredients on top of the crust. Finally they put the pizza in the oven（烤箱）.

    They take the pizza out of the oven in thirty minutes.

    "The pizza smells good!" says their mother.

    "We think so!" say Carmen and Kara.

    The family are happy, and they eat the pizza for dinner.

    Many people have heard of Peter Dinklage from his role in the popular TV drama Game of Thrones. But few know his story. Peter Dinklage is only 135 cm tall. His life shows that a small man can have a great effect(影响).

    Dinklage was born with dwarfism(侏儒症). As he grew up, his legs and arms stopped growing, but his head kept becoming bigger.

    At first, Dinklage's look brought himself much trouble. Other boys often made fun of him. Dinklage felt sad but he never gave up on himself. When he was in the fifth grade, he played his first role in a school play. The show was successful. That made him want to be an actor. After high school, Dinklage went to Bennington College to study acting. There his teachers and students helped him turn his look into his advantage(优势). From then on, he began to act in films and TV dramas.

    Many people think of Dinklage as a spokesman for people with dwarfism, but Dinklage doesn't think so. He says, "Everyone is different. Just because I'm OK with it, I can't preach(传道)how to be OK with it."
