Before Father's Day, I found my father was unhappy because he was out of work. I decided to cheer him up by {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (buy) him a special Father's Day gift.

    One day after school, I rode to the Amy's Store which was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (know) for fashions and styles. I told Amy that I was looking {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a Father's Day present.

    "Do you think he'd like a watch?" she asked and took out a Swiss watch {#blank#}4{#/blank#} looked nice. I told her that my father would like it.

    "How much money do you have?" she asked.

    "Twelve dollars," I replied.

    "You're so {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (luck)," she told me. "It's only $11. You still have $1 for the card." She packed the watch {#blank#}6{#/blank#} thanked me for my business. Then I rode off home {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (quick) with the gift under my arm.

    When my father opened the gift, he asked, "Where did you get it?"

    "I bought it at the Amy's Store. It cost me $11," I said. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} surprised my father looked!

Many years later, I learned that the watch was worth several hundred dollars, and I appreciated

    Hi, boys and girls! My name is Jim. I am a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (report) of our school newspaper. There was a great talent show in our school hall. Many teachers and students went to watch it.     Classmates are an important part of our school days. I am sure everybody agrees with me on this. They can make boring classes  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(excite), they can keep our secrets and they can understand what it is like to be a student. It is important for us{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(build) close relationships with classmates, for man is{#blank#}3{#/blank#}island.

    Firstly, we should try to be part of a team. Everybody  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(have) different ideas and beliefs. There is always someone {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(make) a compromise (妥协) when we work together, but we always let other people do the job. So working with classmates helps us to describe our ideas politely and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(careful).

    Secondly, we can have class trips to improve our relationship. Students always forget outdoor{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(activity). We need to have fun to have a healthy way of life. Trips would kill two birds with just one stone. We can relax and improve the relationship with {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(we) classmates at the same time.

At last, help others  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}they are in need. We should help them {#blank#}10{#/blank#}something about work, and also show we care about them in daily lives. A simple "Hi, how is your day" is enough if you mean it.

    I think with all these in mind, we can all get on well with our classmates.
