He had to give a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (speak) in front of a large group of people. And, he was very nervous. He did not like speaking in front of people. But his speech was very important.

Robert gave his speech. He did a good job. But he did not have the chance to hear {#blank#}3{#/blank#} other people thought. Later that same day Robert looked into his mail box and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (find) a small note there. The note {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (simple) said, "You did a great job today, Robert." Robert was very surprised and happy to see the note. It made him feel very good. And, Robert believes that that small note helped him through the rest of {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (he) training. He felt like he was able to do a good job.

Now {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a psychologist, he teaches people how important it is to give praise to other people. He tells them the story of the simple note that he received. He tells them that the words on the note had power. Those words helped him to continue doing a good job. One day, a businessman, who had {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (attend) Robert's lecture, decided to take Robert's ideas to heart.

The more this businessman encouraged his workers, the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (happy) they were. "The atmosphere in our company changed. We enjoyed working. We began to encourage each other too," said one of the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(worker). "People seemed happier. But, most important of all, a greater spirit of team work developed," the businessman added.

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (quick). So he sent them to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away in turn. The first son went{#blank#}2{#/blank#}winter, the second in spring, the third in summer, and the{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (young) son in fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe{#blank#}4{#/blank#} they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly and bent. The second son contradicted—it was{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (cover) with green buds and full of promise. The third son said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful.  The last son {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(agree) with all of them. He said it was ripe and filled with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but one season in the{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(tree) life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree{#blank#}8{#/blank#}a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are—the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life—can only be judged at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the hope of your spring, the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(beautiful) of your summer, fulfillment of your fall. Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy{#blank#}10{#/blank#} all the rest.
