    I worked as the home health nurse in the very poor city in Florida. I was often very kindly to my patients, especially the elderly. One Christmas Day as I was cooking Christmas dinner to my family, I thought of some elderly people. They were my patients who always alone at home. So I decide to make more and deliver hot meals to them. I saw my two sons play in the house happily, and I made them stop. And I asked him to help me pack and deliver these meals. As we took the food into their poor houses with no heat, they were very moving and we saw tears of joy in their eyes. My sons learned of something priceless.

    My hometown is a mountain village. The trees there were very green but the water is quite clean. I can even clearly see the fish to swim in the mountain streams. When the night come, the air is much cool than that in the daytime. People like to walk out their homes and have a get-together. I often run along the village happy. When I was young, I was terribly poor in the Chinese. Be afraid of expressing myself was one of the reasons why I rarely did well in school. Once I failed in a mid-term exam. When I got the papers, I realized things could have been better if I listened to the teacher much more attentive. So I turned to my teacher for helps and he told me, "Where there is a will, there is a way. If you are devoted to learn Chinese, you'll make it." I couldn't agree much. From then on, I began to work harder. Out of my expect, I made great progress soon. Today, Chinese is which my strength lies. And I'm grateful for my Chinese teacher.

    As the saying goes, "Chance favored the prepared mind." I learned this from one of my experience.

    I was not chosen as member of the volleyball team of our school. Because of this, I decided to give up play volleyball. Luckily, my best friend stopped me but pointed out that it was my laziness and poor preparation which led to my failure. After that, I practiced playing volleyball on every day. When another tryout arrived, I was full prepared and tried my best. As a result, I was selected and became an important player on our school team.

    From this, I am firmly convincing that we are able to seize a chance as long as I get well prepared.

    A Frenchman was once visiting London. He wished to take a walk to see a city. But he was afraid he might get being lost because he knew no words of English. So before he left his hotel, he stopped on the first corner and carefully copied in his notebook the names of the street that he was staying. Then he walked on. At last, he got lost. In several hours he found a policeman. The Frenchman tried his best to explain the policeman that he didn't know the name of his hotel, however he knew the name of the street. He then showed the policeman that he copied in his notebook. It read: "One­way street".
