With International Museum Day coming up, today we are asking readers: Should museums be free or should people have to pay for a ticket? Let us know your views.

Museums are not only there for enjoyment; they are educational. This is why they must be free. While museums need a huge amount of money to stay open, let the rich pay for it. The idea that a person or a child interested in art isn't able to enjoy it because of the cost is wrong.

— Krista (the US), Age 15

Free tickets do not attract (吸引) more people or encourage them to treasure art. People treasure things that are difficult or costly to get. Museums should require regular visitors to pay a fee, but provide free tickets as prizes for high- achieving students who can treasure art more.

— Fred (Canada), Age 14

Museums teach people about their past. This is part of our shared culture that should be free to everyone, the rich or the poor. People should never be asked to pay an entrance fee.

— Rob (Australia), Age 17

There are no simple answers. Low ticket prices could help museums stay open. Companies and businessmen should also provide museum s with more money and other support. That's what they should do for the society.

— Amber (the UK), Age 16

I think museums and art galleries should all be free to the public. And I think twice a year the museums should organise money- raising project to help pay for the cost of staying open.

— Li(China), Age 15

The best part for me was the Mammals exhibition. There are many kinds of animals that you may never seen anywhere. Another favourite is the dinosaur exhibition. They looked so real that I could even imagine their daily lives.

By Britteny   You cannot describe a visit to this excellent museum as fun, but you can definitely describe it as| important. This is a place to see, know and remember the past. By the way, there were a lot of videos and reading of displays to enjoy.
