Two friends are walking in the forest. One is tall, and the other is short. The tall man says to the short man, "We are good friends. If the bear comes, I'll help you." The short man answers, "Of course, we are good friends."

    At this time a bear comes. The tall man quickly climbs up a tree, but the short one can't. He says, "Help me, I can't climb trees." But the tall man says, "No, I can't help you."  The short man have to lies(躺在) on the ground and holds hisbreath(屏住呼吸). The bear smells him and goes away. The tall man comes down and asks," What do the bear say to you?"

    "The bear tells me: A friend in need is a friend indeed.(患难朋友才是真朋友). So you are not my friend. " the short man answers

    It is Sunday morning. Helen and David are going to the People Cinema by bike. They are coming up to a crossing.

Helen: Stop, David!

David: Why? It's late. We should hurry up.

Helen: Look at the lights. It's red now, and it means “Danger”. The cars and the buses must wait, and we must stop too.

David: What does the yellow light mean?

Helen: It means “Wait”. We should wait till(直到) the light is green.

David: Yes, I see. The light is green now. We can go now.

Helen: OK! Let's go.

    I have some pictures of my pen pals. Look! This is Jimmy. He lives in America now. It's next to Canada. He likes playing basketball. He wants to be a basketball player in the future. He goes to school by bike. This is Sally. She is an English girl. She likes Maths and she will be a Maths teacher in 20 years. Paul is an English boy. He likes cooking. He tells me he will be a cook in the future.

    This is our classroom. It's very big. It has very big windows and there are two green doors. On the front door you can see a photo of my class. There are forty-five students in our class. There are twenty-six boys. In the classroom there are two blackboards. One is for teachers and one is for students. The walls are white and bright. On the wall you can see some nice pictures, and there are two maps too—a map of China and a map of the world.

Mary: We'll have an English party today.

Lily: Really?

Mary: Let's go and buy some fruit.

Lily: Good idea! How many apples do you want?

Mary: I want five apples. How many bananas do you want?

Lily: I want eight bananas. I like bananas. How many oranges do you want?

Mary: I want six oranges and some grapes.

Lily: What about pears? Do you like pears?

Mary: I don't like pears.

Lily: But I like pears. I want seven pears. Ben and Tom like pears, too.

Mary: OK. Let's go!
