Mr White works in an office. He likes {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (read) in bed when he is at school. It is bad for his {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(eye) and now he is short sighted. But he doesn't want anybody else {#blank#}3{#/blank#} know about it and he never wears a pair of glasses. It often brings him some trouble.

    One winter morning he {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(go) to a village school on business. He gets off a bus at a stop in {#blank#}5{#/blank#} small town. Then he has to walk there. The road to the village isn't smooth(平坦的). There are stones here and there. He falls over(跌倒) several times {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it makes his clothes very dirty. At last he gets to the village. Suddenly (突然) it begins to blow

    Elephants are smart animals. They can {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(play) soccer or music. But they are in great danger. People cut down many {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(tree)so elephant are losing their homes. People also kill them for {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(they)ivory. Today there {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (be) only about 3, 000 elephants. We must save the trees and not buy things {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(make) of ivory.

    A young man was walking in the desert, feeling so {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Just then he suddenly found a spring of delicious and clear water. The water was cool and sweet for a man who had expected it for such a long time. He drank a lot, and then he filled his bottle so {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he could bring some back to his village and gave it to his teacher who had taught him in middle school.

    After a four-day {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (trip), he gave the water to the old man and he took a deep drink, smiled warmly and thanked his student {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the sweet water. The young man returned to his home {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a happy heart.

    Later, the teacher let another student {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (taste) the water. He spat it out at once, saying it was awful. The student said the water had become bad {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the bottle was too old.

    The student asked his teacher, "Master, the water was bad and it was bitter. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} did you lie to him that you liked it?"

    The teacher replied, "You only tasted the water while I tasted the gift. The water which has been put in love and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (kind) is not simply water."

    Nothing could be {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (sweet) than love.
