Most Chinese children seem to get {#blank#}1{#/blank#} they want. Is this a sort of spoiling(溺爱) or love? I wonder. To my surprise, it seems that the life of a Chinese child is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (real) hard. Without doubt , the child is the very centre of a whole circle of adults, but {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the other hand, he or she is also {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (expect) to start studying according to adults' wishes. Many children of my son's {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (age) take painting classes, piano lessons, and even English lessons. It looks as if Chinese adults think {#blank#}6{#/blank#} just playing without learning anything is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} waste of time.

    So from this point, Western children appear spoiled, just because they are allowed{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (play). But without this sort of play, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} can Western children develop such free and rich imaginations? In fact, the connection between this imagination and the creativity is so important in the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (child) future life.

    A lift is very useful. It is {#blank#}1{#/blank#}a small room. It goes up {#blank#}2{#/blank#} down all day. Sometimes a worker

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( stand) in the lift. He or she operates(操作)it up and down. In modern lifts, there {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(be) no worker. People walk in. They know which floor they want to go. They push a button(按钮)and the lift goes to that floor.

    It's very fast and easy.   Lifts are very important to us. Why？ Think about a tall {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(build). Maybe it has twenty floors. Maybe it has fifty or {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(many). Who can walk up all the stairs(楼梯)？Maybe people can climb them once. Can someone climb thirty floors to an office every day？ Can small children walk up to their rooms on {#blank#}7{#/blank#}twenty-fourth floor？ Can their mothers {#blank#}8{#/blank#}fathers carry food up to all those stairs？Of course not. We can have very high buildings {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we have lifts. We could not have all the beautiful tall buildings without lifts. Because it is too tired for people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(climb) the stairs every day.

    China is a ration of etiquette(礼仪). Chinese people are among {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (friendly) people in the world. If foreigners visit a Chinese family, they would be surprised at the warmth that they would receive as guests. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}you visit a Chinese family, the host usually {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (make) tea for you. Then he will serve you snacks {#blank#}4{#/blank#} biscuits or candy. Someone in the family will also chat with you, never {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (let) you feel lonely. At the same time, other family members will prepare a meal for you. Chinese people treat their guests with a big meal. They always present {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (much) food than the guests can eat. On the table, the guests must be {#blank#}7{#/blank#} first to eat.
