Today I'd like to tell you a little about the people I admire the most.

    My first hero is the adventure Jessica Watson. In October 2009, when she was only sixteen years old, Jessica left Sydeney, Australia and sailed {#blank#}1{#/blank#}the Pacific, Atlantic and India Oceans all by herself. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#}to Sydney in May 2010. She is the youngest person to sail solo unsupported around the world. I have a lot of respect for her as she was {#blank#}3{#/blank#}to face difficulties and danger alone. Australians were so {#blank#}4{#/blank#}her that they called her "our newest Australian hero."

    Diana is Australian. She once {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in a big company. She lived with her friend in a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} apartment and drove to work. She travelled to many {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, but she seldom took the plane. She was afraid of flying.

    One day, Diana saw a TV {#blank#}4{#/blank#} about ORBIS. She learnt about the Flying Eye Hospital. She wanted to help poor people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} eye problems, so she made up her mind to train as a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} and attended courses after work.

    Diana is working for ORBIS now. She has to travel {#blank#}7{#/blank#} 300 days a year. She is getting used to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} by plane.

    Diana enjoys {#blank#}9{#/blank#} work. She is glad to be able to help people see again. She does not have as much money as before, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} she thinks her life is more meaningful.

    During the summer holidays, I worked as a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}at a vet's(兽医诊所), so I saw lots of dogs. Minnie was the funniest-looking dog I'd ever seen. She had thin snow-white hair on her fat body. She had big round eyes and always seemed surprised, but she was blind.

    She was brought to the vet's because her owner didn't want her any more. I thought Minnie was a sweet dog, though. "No one can know her by the ways she looks, "I thought. So we took care of her. Finally, I put an{#blank#}2{#/blank#}in the newspaper; Funny looking dog, who is quiet and has blind but beautiful eyes, needs a loving family. "Then a young man called. He said on the phone that his grandfather's sixteen-year-old dog had just died. I gave Minnie a good bath and made her hair feel soft. Then we waited for them to arrive.

    At last, an old car{#blank#}3{#/blank#}in front of the vet's. Two kids ran to the door. They took her happily into their arms. Then they ran to their grandfather, who was waiting in the car. I hurried behind them to see what he would say about Minnie. Inside the car, the grandfather held Minnie in his{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Minnie licked his face. It was love at the first lick.

    "She is wonderful!" the old man smiled. I was thankful that Minnie had found a good home. Then I saw that the grandfather's eyes were a milky white colour, he was blind, too.

    There's a saying, "You are what you eat." It means it is important to eat good food so that we can {#blank#}1{#/blank#} healthy. Kids in Japan are a good example of this.

    A report by UNICRF(联合国儿童基金会)shows that the health of Japanese children tops the world. Experts say there are many reasons of this. A national school lunch program {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a key role.

    In Japan, children{#blank#}3{#/blank#} packed lunches to school in the past. But now, they usually eat lunches in their school classrooms. Nutritionist(营养师)makes the menus for the school lunches. All primary schools and a lot of junior high schools in Japan use these menus. Children hand out food to each other. After lunch, teachers let children {#blank#}4{#/blank#} up the room by themselves. They believe it is also a good way to help improve children's living skills. When they grow up, they {#blank#}5{#/blank#} able to look after themselves.
