I love travelling. In my first year of university, I started to travel during the holidays. During the Christmas holiday I went to Paris, and during the spring vacation, I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (visit) Athens and many other cities in Italy. I was very excited {#blank#}2{#/blank#} this was the first time I had travelled aboard with just my friends. At first, I simply thought travelling as a way to have something to look forward to after exams, but I soon discovered how important it is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (travel).

    On my travels I have the chance to experience new cultures through the art, history, language and food. Also, I have the chance to communicate {#blank#}4{#/blank#} people who have different opinions on life. Travelling is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} learning experience for both yourself and the people you meet. Some people I met during my travels had never heard of my home town and it was very exciting for me to tell {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (they) about it. When you travel you will meet people who have different cultural {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (background) and as a result, sometimes your own ideas and opinions might be challenged. It's important to learn to see {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (thing) from other people's perspectives.

    This is how I realized that travelling makes one appreciate home. When you see others have so little, you get to realize how {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (luck) you are! It makes you miss things at home. Not just the physical location of home, but also your way of life.

    Travelling is truly a(n) {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (value) experience and I am always excited about the discoveries in my next journey!

    A farmer had a donkey and a dog. Both the donkey and the dog {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (help) their master in many ways. One night, two thieves broke in the farmer's {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. The dog heard them and started barking. The farmer got {#blank#}3{#/blank#} and so did the neighbors. So they caught the two thieves.

    The farmer said, "I'm glad I had this dog." The neighbors also thought so.

    From that day, the donkey decided to show his master that he could also be {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (use) just like the dog.

    One night, the thieves again entered the farmer's house. As the thieves looked in, they saw the dog {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (sit) just outside the main door. "It seems the dog is quite watchful," said one thief.

    "We {#blank#}6{#/blank#} better go at once," the other thief said and then the two thieves went away. But unknown to the thieves, the donkey was watching all this. He thought, "It is a good chance for me to show {#blank#}7{#/blank#} master that I can be useful. The thieves have run away. If I start {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (shout), the master will thank me." So the donkey started braying(驴叫) {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (loud).

    When the farmer heard the donkey, he {#blank#}10{#/blank#} angry. He came out with a stick and hit the donkey hard. "This will teach you not to bray at night," he thought.
