When I was in primary school, I often thought about what my junior high school life would be {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. I am a junior high school student now. I find something different. In most junior high schools, the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(one) day is usually on 1st September. Class often {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(start) at 7:45 in the morning. 

I go to school from Mondays to Fridays {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I have seven lessons every day. English is my favourite. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(learn) English well is important for me, because I want to be {#blank#}6{#/blank#} English teacher in the future. I started {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(work) hard from the first English lesson. In that lesson, our English teacher Ms Chen wrote some {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(sentence) on the blackboard. Then she asked {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(we) to answer questions. I was the first to put up my hand, but my answer was not right. I felt sad. But Ms Chen said it was OK {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(make) mistakes sometimes. She taught me to learn from them, and then I could do better next time. 

Falling leaves and cold wind show the coming of another season. This year, Lidong starts {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

November 7th, It is a Chinese word for one of the 24 solar terms. 

To celebrate Lidong, people have many colorful {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (activity) that light up the cold days. One of the most popular customs（习俗）is to have {#blank#}3{#/blank#}big meal. Eating {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (good) helps people have energy能量 to spend the cold snowy days in winter, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} prepare for the coming spring. In the north, people enjoy {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (have) dumplings. The Chinese word for dumpling-jiaozi has a similar pronunciation（发音）to the word "change". It {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (mean) celebrating the change of autumn to winter. While in the south, people {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (usual) eat chicken, duck and fish. 

According to history, Lidong was also a time for people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (keep) vegetables. In the past, there {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) not many fresh vegetables to eat in winter. Therefore, around Lidong some people in the north began to keep vegetables like cabbages, green onions. However, most people buy fresh vegetables in the supermarket today.
