Graduation is coming! Many students are leaving school. What are they taking with them? A lot of things for sure, but the most important thing is {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.
    We asked some teachers to give us the last lesson. The lesson is proverbs about friends. Older people{#blank#}2{#/blank#}  teach proverbs to younger people. Every culture has proverbs. They are short and easy to {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.
    There is a German proverb which says, “Friendship is a plant we must {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ." It means that we need to take care of friends{#blank#}5{#/blank#}  taking care of a garden. “Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty." is {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  proverb from Japan. It means that only {#blank#}7{#/blank#}friends tell you when you are making a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} .
    My grandfather told me, “Nobody is so {#blank#}9{#/blank#} that he can throw away a friend.”Everyone {#blank#}10{#/blank#} friends. Be good to them.

Cindy is my good friend. She likes {#blank#}1{#/blank#} very much. She plays basketball {#blank#}2{#/blank#} her father every morning. Her father plays basketball {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.  

Cindy has good {#blank#}4{#/blank#} habits. For breakfast, she likes eggs, bread and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. For lunch, she has chicken, rice and vegetables. For {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, she has some fruit and bread. She eats apples, bananas and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. She likes hamburgers, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} she doesn't eat them. She doesn't think they are {#blank#}9{#/blank#} .  

Cindy eats well and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} sports every day, so she is very healthy.

    A poor farmer had a friend {#blank#}1{#/blank#}was famous for the wonderful apple tree he grew.    

    One day, his friend {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(give) the farmer a young apple tree and told him to plant it. The farmer was pleased with the gift, but he did not know where{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(plant) it.    

    He was afraid that if he planted the tree near the road, strangers would steal the fruit. If he planted the tree in one {#blank#}4{#/blank#}his fields, his neighbors would come at night and steal some of the apples. If he planted the tree near his house, his children would take the fruit.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(final) he planted the tree in his wood. But {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(with) sunlight and good soil (土壤),the tree soon died.    

    Later the friend asked the farmer why he had planted the tree in such{#blank#}7{#/blank#} poor place. "What's the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(different)? " the farmer asked{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(angry). The friend answered, "If you planted the tree in the sunlight, at least {#blank#}10{#/blank#}could enjoy the fruit. Now you not only have robbed everyone of the fruit, but also you have destroyed (毁掉) a good apple tree !"   

    Dream House in California is not a house for only one or two children. It's a house for many {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(kid). It's a family. It's the future.

    Imagine{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(live) in a hospital for many years because of illness. Imagine that one stays in a cold street{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(连词) there is no other place to stay. These children need help. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（代词）need Dream House.

    Many years ago, a little girl named Collin Rose{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(decide) that when she grew up, she would offer a warm home{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(介词) those sick and homeless children. When she grew up, she became{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(冠词)  nurse and made her dream come true. In November 2003, Collin Rose set up Dream House.

    Collin Rose's efforts have{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(encourage) many people to help sick and homeless children.

    "Every child should have a happy childhood. We may help make these children's lives{#blank#}9{#/blank#}  (good) than before. Your small help may{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(great) change their lives. No help is too small." Collin Rose said.

    Students go hungry for charity （慈善）Students at New Point School enjoyed their breakfast today，for it broke a 24﹣hour fast （禁食）for charity．During the fast，they could not eat any food{#blank#}1{#/blank#}，and they could only drink water，tea and clear fruit juice．The students all volunteered to go without food for one day to raise money for UN projects to help the poor {#blank#}2{#/blank#}．

    Mr．James Wood，their English teacher，said，"The students {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the idea themselves after seeing photos of hungry children．They organized the whole thing．I'm very proud of them．"

"Twenty﹣four hours did not feel like a very long time．Next year，I might even double {#blank#}4{#/blank#}I spend fasting．Then I can raise twice as much money!"said Jane Austin，a student．"It's so wrong for us to have lots of food while many people in the world are going hungry．We need to give to those in need．"

    The students collected about $ 2，400 from the fast．They were {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the total amount．"It's amazing!People are so kind，and they want to help others，"said Alan Long，another student．
