There once lived a king and a queen. They were very stupid. One day the queen had a baby daughter. When they saw their baby, they both cried out, "My goodness! {#blank#}1{#/blank#} small it is! It's hairless and toothless! It's a monster (怪物)!" They {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (send) for all the doctors in the country and ordered them {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (make) some medicine for her.

    "After she takes your medicine, she must grow to the right size and have hair and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (tooth)," the king said to the doctors. "If you don't do this, I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (kill) you." The doctors thought it was not possible, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} they could not say anything against the king's order. Just then an old doctor came up. "Oh, we shall {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (certain) follow your order," he said, "but it takes time. We have to dig for something to make medicine in the Kunlun Mountains when the snow melts for the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (two) time. The snow on the mountains melts only once in six years. So we need twelve years."

    At last the king agreed and the doctors took away the little baby. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} her twelfth birthday, they brought her back to her parents with long black hair and beautiful teeth.     Smile is very important in our lives. We often see Mother's smile. Mother's smile is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (like)a spring wind and lets us feel warm in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (we)hearts. When you are sad, it can make you {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (happily)again；when you fail, it can help you {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (cheer)up and work hard again.     A Christmas Carol is a famous short novel{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(write) by Charles Dickens. It is about an old man named Scrooge who never laughs or smiles. Then the{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(two)spirit, the Ghost of Christmas Present, takes him to see how others are{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(spend) Christmas this year. Everyone is happy, even poor people. The last one, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to come, takes him to the future. Scrooge sees that he is dead, but nobody cares. He is{#blank#}8{#/blank#}scared that he wakes up in his bed and finds out it is only the next morning--Christmas Day!

    He decides to change his life and promises to be a {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(good) person. He happily celebrates Christmas with his relatives. He also gives gifts to people in need. He now treats everyone with kindness and{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(warm), spreading love and joy everywhere he goes. And that is the true spirit of Christmas.
