School for boys
Boys in ancient Greece stayed at home when they were young. They helped their parents work and had h{#blank#}2{#/blank#}like fishing and sailing. At the age of six or seven, most of them started to go to school. They studied philosophy and h{#blank#}3{#/blank#}to play the lyre (a kind of musical instrument). They also studied other subjects, but they did not use many books. Most of what they l{#blank#}4{#/blank#}was said out loud and memorized.
School for girls
In most places in ancient Greece, girls did not go to school. They stayed at home and learned f{#blank#}5{#/blank#}their mothers. Girls were not allowed to go outside the house much. H{#blank#}6{#/blank#}, things were different for girls in a part of Greece called Sparta. Girls there went to military(军事的) school where they learned how to wrestle and fight!
