      A young man was traveling. It was getting late in the day, and he was t{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. When he met an old man on the road, he asked him, “Excuse me, where can I get w{#blank#}2{#/blank#}, sir?”

The old man told him, “Walk along the road and you'll see a small r{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.” Then the old man added, “If you pick up some pebbles(卵石；小圆石) from the river bed, you will get both glad and s{#blank#}4{#/blank#}.”

      The young man t{#blank#}5{#/blank#} the old man and went on his way. When it got dark, he found the river and took a d{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. He thought it was silly to pick up pebbles, b{#blank#}7{#/blank#} he still picked some up. He then found a p{#blank#}8{#/blank#} to sleep.

      The next morning the young man found those pebbles became beautiful, bright jewels (珠宝)。So he ran back to the river q{#blank#}9{#/blank#} to get more, but there were only sands.

      Looking at the beautiful jewels, he felt s{#blank#}10{#/blank#} that he hadn't picked up more. At that time he was happy that he had picked some up.

     As the train was moving across a wilderness(荒野), the passengers looked out of the windows quietly. When the train reached a bend(转弯处),it1    and a simple house appeared. It was so easy to notice that everybody on the train turned to "enjoy" with eyes wide open. Some passengers began a discussion about it. The young man was also   2   by the scenery.
