One day, an old couple around the age of 70 walked into a lawyer's office. They were there to get a divorce(离婚). The lawyer(律师) was very puzzled. A{#blank#}1{#/blank#} having a chat with them, he got their story.
This couple had been quarrelling in their 40 years of marriage and nothing ever seemed to go right. They stayed together because of their children. Now all their children have grown up and have their o{#blank#}2{#/blank#} families. There's nothing else the old couple have to w{#blank#}3{#/blank#} about. All they want is to live their own life, so both have agreed on a divorce.
The lawyer was having a hard time trying to get papers done. He couldn't understand why the old couple w{#blank#}4{#/blank#} a divorce. While they were signing the papers, the wife told the husband, " I really love you, but I really can't carry on any more."
"It's Ok, I understand," said the husband. Looking at this, the lawyer suggested a d{#blank#}5{#/blank#} together, just the three of them. The wife thought, why not, since they were still going to be f{#blank#}6{#/blank#} .
The first dish was roasted chicken. At once, the old man took the chicken leg and gave it to the old lady. "Take this, it's your f{#blank#}7{#/blank#} .
Looking at this, the lawyer thought maybe here was a chance, but the wife looked
u{#blank#}8{#/blank#} when she answered, "This is the problem. You always think so highly of yourself and never think about how I feel. Don't you know that I h{#blank#}9{#/blank#} chicken legs?"
Little did she know that, over the years, the husband had been trying many d{#blank#}10{#/blank#} ways to please her; little did she know that chicken legs were her husband's favourite.

阅读下面短文,用括号内所给动词的适当形式填空(必要时可加情态动词或助动词)。

Bullying (欺凌) is doing things to hurt other people. It is a serious problem at school.

Miah—now a 22-year-old girl, still {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (remember) how she was bullied in junior high school. "They kicked me, put sticks in my hair and took money from me. Even worse, I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (make) to eat rubbish. I {#blank#}3{#/blank#}never {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (forget) those moments. "

Miah is not the only case. I saw another bullying situation when I was a student. Some students bullied a handicapped (智力低下的)  girl every day —hitting, pushing, and kicking her. They just enjoyed {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (do) it. The girl didn't realize that people {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hurt) her. She couldn't even tell the teacher. The situation lasted for a long time.

Bullying at school is getting worse, so, many people {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (try) to start anti—bullying(反欺凌) programs. Students in many schools have already taken actions. They {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (create) anti—bullying clubs. Many students have joined the clubs. They work with teachers to show students how to stop bullying. Some other programs have proved to be successful, too.

In Wales, two girls came up with an idea to stop bullying on the school bus. They created a bus pass (乘车证) and made four rules for students: no bullying, no swearing(骂脏话), no smoking and no shouting. Whenever a student broke a rule, he would get a mark on his pass. When a student had four marks, he wouldn't be allowed to take the bus anymore. The bus pass idea worked. It {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (stop) bullying on the bus.

In Michigan, some students tried to stop bullying with friendship. They made DVDs. They gave the DVDs to students in their school {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (teach) them how to be good friends. This idea worked, too. After that, there was less bullying at their school.

School programs like these {#blank#}11{#/blank#} (help) bullies learn to behave properly and they can also help prevent school bullying. I think it will come to a stop if everyone does something.
