Marty was growing up. All he wanted was to do things in his way. Why did all the wolves have to do e{#blank#}1{#/blank#} together? They ate together, played together, slept together, and hunted(猎食) together. Everywhere, every day. It was tiring.

    Marty thought he could do things h{#blank#}2{#/blank#} now, such as hunting a rabbit, hanging out, sleeping without the pack and so on. But his mom wouldn't let him try those i{#blank#}3{#/blank#} on his own. She always said to him, "Packs(群体) help us live ."

    One day, the pack was walking through a forest. Marty thought, "I'm going to go down that path(小路) and I'll have plenty to eat! I don't need you, guys!" He ran off without telling anyone. He ran for miles. He started to get t{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, and it was getting dark. Usually, the pack would all find a place together to sleep, but Marty had no pack now. He found a small cave to sleep in. He thought, "Sleeping would be much easier with my pack by my side. If something dangerous comes, they will p{#blank#}5{#/blank#} me."

    He could hardly sleep that night. The next morning, he decided to go b{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to the place where he'd last been together with his pack. On the way to find his pack, he smelled a deer. "Hmmmm…" Marty thought, "The pack would be happy if I brought a deer for them all." S{#blank#}7{#/blank#} he decided to hunt on his own. He followed the deer into an open space. Marty looked around. Where was the deer? Suddenly, something charged( 猛冲) out of the trees at him! It was the deer, and those antlers( 鹿角) were sharp!!! Marty ran from it as f{#blank#}8{#/blank#} as he could. After a while, the deer s{#blank#}9{#/blank#} running after him. Marty rested.

    Now, he felt hungry and lonely. He realized his mom was r{#blank#}10{#/blank#}, packs did help them live. He hoped he could find his pack and work hard to help them as much as they help him.

    How long does it take to build a new house? It usually takes about six months or more. B{#blank#}1{#/blank#} each year, thousands of people work together to build new homes in just four months. Who does this w{#blank#}2{#/blank#} work? Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a group that builds homes for families in n{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. It has branches (分部) in different states around the country. This group works all over the world, too. Volunteers help build the homes. They are unpaid workers who do all the work for f{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Volunteers can be builders and painters. They can be teachers or bankers, and some are students. Habitat for Humanity has built more than 300，000 houses. More than 1. 5 million people l{#blank#}5{#/blank#} in these houses. Building a home is hard work. Volunteers learn h{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to put up walls. They use many m{#blank#}7{#/blank#} and tools.
