Tips for incoming freshman in High school

    I never really knew exactly how I felt about starting high school. While I was excited to make new friends and learn new things, I was also very nervous about finding my way around. I knew it would be d{#blank#}1{#/blank#} to get used to a new life, but there really isn't much to fear! So, for all those new incoming freshmen out there, I'm here to help you make it through your first year of high school!

    Here is just a list of some of the things I found helpful throughout my first year.

    1) Remember, you aren't a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. There are hundreds of teens experiencing what you are experiencing this very moment! Although you may feel a million different things, just keep in m{#blank#}3{#/blank#} that there are people that are feeling the same way.

    2) Don't be afraid to make new friends. There are many people who s{#blank#}4{#/blank#} the same interests as you and are looking for those who have that interest. Sometimes you may have nothing in common but the need to make friends! Remember, there are plenty of teens out there for you.

    3) Join an interesting club or sport. High school is the time to t{#blank#}5{#/blank#}new things, and luckily your school has so much to offer! There are so many clubs to choose from, like the environmental club, Spanish club, cooking club, and so many more! Many schools also offer a wide variety of sports, i{#blank#}6{#/blank#} a freshman level! Joining a club or sport is also a great way to meet people!

    Do you know Stephen Hawking? He's one of the most well-known{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（scientist）on space and time in the world. He was born in England in 1942. Hawking is {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（study）how the universe began and how it ends.

    When he studied math and science at Oxford University, he fell{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(serious) ill, which made him unable to speak or breathe. Till now, he can't move or feed{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(him). however, he has a wheelchair with {#blank#}5{#/blank#} special computer, with which he can communicate with others.

    {#blank#}6{#/blank#}he was facing all these difficulties, he refused to give up his hope of living. Because{#blank#}7{#/blank#} his illness, it was difficult for him to draw diagrams or to write. So he started{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(think) in pictures. With this new way of thinking, he is respected by people in the world.

    Once he{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(invite) to China to give lectures. His self-confidence and humorous conversations impressed us deeply.

    He once said, “When something unfair happens,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} is no need to worry about it! You just have to do the best in your own situation.”
