Different countries have d{#blank#}1{#/blank#} ideas about how to be polite. In Britain, table manners(餐桌礼仪) are important. It's n{#blank#}2{#/blank#} polite to make a noise at the table. If you burp(打嗝)，you should say “E{#blank#}3{#/blank#} me”. British people don't use their fingers to eat m{#blank#}4{#/blank#} things, but some food is OK to e{#blank#}5{#/blank#} with fingers, such as sandwiches, hamburgers and fruit. Don't talk with food i{#blank#}6{#/blank#}  your mouth or eat with your mouth open. It's not p{#blank#}7{#/blank#} to leave some food on your plate. It shows that you don't l{#blank#}8{#/blank#} the food. Even if (即使)the food i{#blank#}9{#/blank#} terrible, you should say it is n{#blank#}10{#/blank#} .

    Life is not easy, so I'd like to say," Whenever it is,{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(相信) in yourself."

    When I was a young boy, I was too shy to speak to anyone. My classmates often {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(嘲笑) at me. I was sad but could do {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(没什么事). Later, something {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(发生), and it changed my life. It was an English contest. My mother asked me to take part in it. What a terrible idea! I could {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(几乎不) believe my ears when the news came that I had won the first prize. I heard the cheers from the teachers and students. My classmates all said "Congratulations!" to me. What a happy time!

    When it comes to learning, the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (环境) has a big part to play. This has been shown in a long-term study by professor Mitra from India. He set up computers in a village in India where children could not speak English. They did not know what a computer looked like or what the Internet was. To everyone's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (惊讶), children taught {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (他们自己) how to use the machines, in a very short period of time. This suggests that children can learn fast with little help. Professor Mitra thinks this could change schools. He is now working on so-called SOLES. He said that SOLES includes at {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (最少) a computer and a bench big {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (足够的) for four pupils. SOELS have also been tested in some other countries, such as UK and Italy, with encouraging results.
