      I worked in a shop three years ago. A girl started working there a few months after me. I met her often but we never t{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. We just saw each o{#blank#}2{#/blank#} and smiled.

She would always smile in a really happy way until one day when we got to work in the same department again. She smiled as if she was the h{#blank#}3{#/blank#} girl in the world. I went up to her and asked, “What's w{#blank#}4{#/blank#} with you?” She answered, “Why?” I said, “I can feel you're very sad but you're always t{#blank#}5{#/blank#} to hide it.” Her mouth just dropped as if I had discovered her deepest s{#blank#}6{#/blank#}, so we started talking. She told me why she was feeling like that and why she was trying to hide it. Time w{#blank#}7{#/blank#} by and we became good friends. Later she said that I had changed her life in many w{#blank#}8{#/blank#}. Today this girl is one of my best friends. She has been there for me in every possible way a friend could be.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you never know when you're helping y{#blank#}9{#/blank#}. I helped this girl never knowing that at the same time I was helping myself by finding a t{#blank#}10{#/blank#} friend.

    Mr. Smith has a full time job in the post office of his city. He is a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (邮递员) and he often works outside for twelve hours a day in the summer {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (高温) or in the winter cold. Mrs. Smith works at an education center.     After the policemen left, Mrs. Smith started cleaning the house. She {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (看见) a candle lying by the window. Near the candle was {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(钱包)! She opened it and found their money there. The thief had dropped it when he jumped through the window.
