愉快的周末

  Many students had a great time last weekend. John played football with his friends. He was very excited. Chen Jie stayed at home and cleaned her room. Mike went to the park with his parents . They saw many beautiful flowers and went boating there. What about Zhang Peng? He had a cold. He was ill. So he slept at home.

    There are four seasons in China.   March, April and May make the spring.   June, July and August make the summer. September, October and November make the autumn. The rest(剩下的)of months make the winter.

The Australia's seasons are opposite(相反的). When it's spring in China, it is autumn in Australia.

Australia is in the south(南方)of the earth. June, July and August are the winter months. The summer is in December. January and February. It's very hot there, too.

Near the North Pole(北极)there are two seasons. They are summer and winter. The nights in winter are long. For more than two months you can't see the sun, even at noon. In summer the days are long. For more than two months, the sun never sets(落下), and there's no night.

    My name is Tom. I'm a student. My school is not very big, but very beautiful. Look, this is my classroom. It's very bright. There is a computer on the teacher's desk. There are 46 students in my class. 22 girls and 24 boys. My school has two libraries. The big one is for the students. The small one is for the teachers. There's a big playground in the school. I like to play football there. I like my school very much.

    “Early to bed, early to rise（起身）makes people healthy, wealthy and wise（健康，富有，聪明）.” This is an old English saying. Children should have ten hours' sleep every night, or （不然，否则）they can't do their work very well. They will not be wise. The body needs exercise. Walking, running, swimming and playing ball games are all exercise. Exercise keeps the body strong.

    The Dead Sea is not a sea. It is a big lake in the Jordan Valley. The weather is hot there and the water is salty. Fish can not live in the salty water and plants can not grow near it. People can not swim well in the Dead Sea, but they can float on the water. You can often see people floating on the lake, reading books or newspapers. The water is very blue and the air is clean.
