The pyramids in Egypt are thought one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
There are 80 pyramids in Egypt. The three great pyramids at Giza were built 4, 000 years ago. And Khufu's Pyramid is the biggest one, it was built with more than 2. 3 million rocks. It was built on a square base. The base is about 230 metres long. The original height of the Pyramid was 146. 5 metres when it was first built, but over the years, it has lost about 9 metres, so today it is only 137 metres high.
The pharaohs (法老) set out to build pyramids as tombs (陵墓)for themselves. They are the wonders of the world. The pyramids show not only the buildings for us, but also the human's knowledge in ancient times. The pyramids belong to Egypt, but the pyramids also belong to the world.
Many people in modern times want to know how the ancient Egyptians set up them? It's still a puzzle now. Many scientists haven't found out the answer to the problem.
