The whole school was talking about the winter camp. And everyone was looking forward {#blank#}1{#/blank#} it except me because I thought I would get homesick. But it was the way we grew up.

     When arriving at the camp, we {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (ask) to ski(滑雪) down to field by the coach. I skied {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (careful), but I still hit a piece of ice and fell down.

“Ha! Ha!” Behind me, somebody started laughing. I looked back to see {#blank#}4{#/blank#} was laughing at me. To my surprise, I saw{#blank#}5{#/blank#} girl in the same embarrassing position I was in. “I thought I'd be bad at this, but it seems{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (difficult) than I expected!” she said. Suddenly, I started laughing, too. After being so afraid of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (fall), it was a comfort not to fear it anymore.

     The next day, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} I didn't want to go ski jumping, I was chosen to do that first. But when my {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (foot) left the ground, I felt I was flying and it was wonderful.

     Just do your best {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (meet) every challenge. You'll never imagine how much you will get.

Are You Homesick（想家的）?

    Are you ready{#blank#}1{#/blank#}leaving home? You can't help yourself feel less homesick. Here are some helpful ways：

    Bring a little bit of home with you

    If you are going away from home,{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(bring) your pillow or your favorite pajamas（睡衣）. You can also bring {#blank#}3{#/blank#}picture) of the people you'll miss and look at them when you want to.

Keep busy

    The more fun things you do, the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} time you'll have to feel homesick, so you can try to join in some{#blank#}5{#/blank#}（activity）. Even if you are not completely（完全地） into them at first, you might soon start to have a good time.

Stay in touch

    You can plan {#blank#}6{#/blank#} you'll call your mom or dad. If you have a two-day visit, maybe you need to stay out for a night. You'd better call {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(one) that night and again in the morning to make sure your parents know you're safe. With a camping trip, you might set a regular（规律的、定时的） day and time for a phone call home. You can also to stay in touch with your family and friends through the Internet. When you get in touch with someone, be{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(sure) to talk about the funny things you're doing.

Talk to someone when you need to

Sometimes, just telling someone that you're feeling a little homesick will help you feel better. Maybe you can tell a friend that you feel homesick and the two of you can do something fun—- like{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(tell) each other jokes. If you're at camp, a camp teacher would be a good person to talk {#blank#}10{#/blank#}. He or she might have some ways to help you feel better.
