A Clock and a Watch

    We can tell the time by a clock or by a watch. A clock is big; it is usually on the wall or on the table. A watch is small; we can put it in the pocket (口袋), or wear it on the wrist（手腕）! A clock or a watch usually has a round face. It has two hands, a long one and a short one. Tom's clock can speak and call him to get up every day. His watch has a picture of a lovely dog on the face. He likes it very much.

Teacher : Boys and girls, it is goingto be Children's Day this Friday. Let's have a party in our classroom from 2:00 to 4:00.

Children: Hooray!

    Mr. Black and his wife live in New York with their children . They are very busy all day .

    On Sundays they get up early . They don't have a big breakfast , only coffee , bread and butter . Then they go to church . After that , they all go to the park in the centre of the city .

    First they get up early . They sit under the tree and have their picnic lunch . The children fly their kites . Mr. Black always sleeps after lunch on Sundays .

    In the afternoon , the children ride their bikes . At about five o'clock , they buy fruit or ice cream and then they catch the bus to go home .

    They have supper at home . Then the children go to bed . Mr. Black goes to bed early on Sunday .

Sarah: I am hungry, Dad. What's for lunch?

Dad: Sorry, I don't know. Your mum is cooking in the kitchen.

Sarah: Mum, what's for lunch? I'm very hungry.

Mum: What about Chinese food?

Sarah: Great! I like Chinese food. But I can't use chopsticks.

Mum: You can try.

Sarah: So what is it?

Mum: Just wait and see. Pass me a plate, please.

Sarah: Here you are。

Mum: Thank you. Lunch's ready. Look, we have dumplings（饺子）today.

Sarah: Mmm, yummy!

    Ben is going to visit his grandparents in New York next week. He wants to give some presents to them. Yesterday he went shopping with his parents. In the shop, he bought a blue sweater and black trousers for his grandfather and some good books for his grandmother. Both his parents thought they were very good presents. Ben was very happy.
