In the western world, Chinese takeout with rice and forturne cookies(幸运饼干) is a popular kind of food. But this kind of Chinese food isn't very authentic(正宗的),it is very {#blank#}1{#/blank#} /`dɪfrənt/from real Chinese food. Now over the years, real Chinese{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(dish) have become more popular in foreign countries as well.

    Chinese people who live{#blank#}3{#/blank#} /ə`brɔ:d/introduced many of them. Some have been popular in foreign countries for many years{#blank#}4{#/blank#} others are new, like tanghulu. It is a traditional Chinese snack that is made{#blank#}5{#/blank#}fruit, usually Chinese hawthorns(山楂). The fruit is struck on a stick of bamboo. Then it is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (cover) with sugar syrup(糖浆), which becomes hard after it cools down.

    Wang JiaLiang, a tanghulu vendor(摊贩)from China, sold 8,000 sticks in Russia {#blank#}7{#/blank#} one day. Tanghulu made him{#blank#}8{#/blank#}/ˈfeɪməs/ in Russia, with his picture {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(appear) in the local newspaper. In the Russian city of Vladiostok, the deputy mayor(副市长)is a big fan of the snack, always coming to buy it{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(he) from Wang JiaLiang.

    Students who get tired of looking at the four walls of a classroom might like to take the nature course being {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (提供) by Carvel College again this summer. Groups of about a dozen students each will be led by an experienced guide. They will go on a ten-day camping trip to the mountains to study the plants and animals that {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (生长) and live there.

    Students carry their own {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (东西), which include sleeping bags, warm clothing, food and water, and other useful tools. And what do the students do {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (全部的) day? Well, as soon as the sun {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(出来) up, they will eat breakfast and start climbing up the mountain to the next campground, which is five to ten miles away. As the students take notes, the guide will point out different plants and animals alongside the trail. The climb is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (通常) over by afternoon, so the group spends the rest of the day {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (休息) or swimming in a mountain lake. Before dinner each night, they all come together and discuss the day's {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(活动).

    At the end of the course, the students write reports by using the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (信息) they have collected. But they don't mind at all. What they do mind is leaving the beauty of the wilderness and the good friends they've made to return to their {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(正常的) in the city.
