I was 17 years old. Along with a dozen other boys I had made a long trip to Iowa in order to see a college that I was thinking of 1 . Now I was there and I was feeling sad and 2 . I was missing my family and the Appalachian mountains of my home. I loved 3 in the forests there. I loved how the 4 turned a thousand shades of green in the spring and then became a sea of red. 5 . and orange in the fall. I loved the 6 of countless wild flowers that grew in our meadows(草地). These things were a 7 of me.

Here in Iowa everything was 8 . The grass looked burnt and brown. All that I could smell was a 9 of corn, mud, and pigs. I walked outside the dormitory of the college and sat on a 10 . I closed my eyes and 11 being back home again. When I opened my eyes, however, I saw something that 12 my soul. It was a beautiful sunset. Gold, red, purple and pink clouds all 13 together in a picture. It was so huge that it took my breath away. It made our mountain sunsets seem 14 by comparison. I 15 that I had been foolish and judgmental(武断的). This place had its own special beauty. This place too was a part of God's 16 .

Over the years to come 1 17 something else. Each of us has a special beauty 18 . Each of us has our own unique 19 and abilities. Each of us has a beautiful, powerful love that only we can share. And God wants us to share it. May your life always shine 20 .

My writing career began at the age of ten. That year, my mother gave me my first journal to help me deal with the 1 of my grandmother's death. In many ways, my grandmother was the 2 behind my own writing career. 

When she was alive, my grandmother had 3 much emotional pain, but she also knew that writing was her key to 4 . While growing up in Galicia, Poland, during World War I, she 5 both her parents, and then had to care for herself and her eight-year-old sister. She found solace (慰藉) in journal writing. 

Many years after her death, I 6 her journal and read every word. The void(空虚感) she had left in my life became stronger as the years progressed and I had my own health issues to 7 , such as being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 47. My 8 caused me to write down my grandmother's life story, based on the 9 of her journal. Although at times the writing was 10 , it did bring me close to her once again and help me more 11 understand her many hardships. 

Keeping journals has helped me 12 emotionally. Whether you're 13 by change, loss or pain, finding the time to write is 14 to the healing process. So why not 15 your pen and write down whatever comes to your mind?

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was born on February 27, 1807 in Portland, Maine. His father, Stephen, was a lawyer, so Henry was born into a rich family. Henry began 1 at age three. By the time he was six he was the smartest boy in the school. He was very good at spelling and arithmetic. But Henry loved to write and 2 became very skilled in it. Henry's father wanted him to become a lawyer, but after Henry 3 from Bowdoin College in Maine at the age of 19, he dreamed of becoming a(n) 4 . Henry wanted to travel to Europe to study. He followed that 5 , and later returned to Bowdoin to become a professor at age 22.  

In 1831, Henry 6 Mary Storer Potter, a former schoolmate. He 7 and started The New England. He and his wife travelled to Europe, where he studied Swedish, Danish, Finnish and the Dutch language and literature.  

In 1836, Henry began 8 in Harvard. He moved into a room of the famous Craigie House in Cambridge. In the Craigie House, Henry 9 to write poems and books.  

In 1847, Longfellow's poem Evangeline was 10 . Many people said Evangeline was his best poem. In 1854 he resigned from Harvard to 11 his time to his writing. The Song of Hiawatha, written in 1855, was also very popular, as it was one of the first poems to 12 the Native American Indian culture. When The Courtship of Miles Standish 13 in 1858, it sold 25,000 copies on the first day of publication.  

The next few years were 14 with honours and rewards. He was invited to the House of Windsor by Queen Victoria by 15 of the Prince of Wales. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow died on March 24, 1882.  

It was the middle of winter some 30 years ago. I was a young father with three little mouths to 1 . My college education, however, didn't help me to 2 a well-paid job. I was working in a woodcutting business for just above the 3 wage. Working outdoors for 8 hours a day had caused my4 to split (裂开) and bleed at their tips in the cold, dry air. 

That day at work was harder than normal. We 5 workers. Worse still, the machines kept breaking down. When the day finally ended, I took off the gloves and 6 my painful hands. The splits were 7 than ever and I had bled through the band-aids again. I tried to 8 my back but it hurt badly. I had never felt that tired and 9 before, wondering why life was so tough and how long I could keep doing this. 

I tried to 10 a smile as I got home. My daughter ran up to me merrily, yelled "Daddy!", and 11 her little arms around my neck. My heart exploded with 12 . My aches and tiredness disappeared into her13 . And the joy in my heart 14 the depression away. At that moment I knew I could continue on and that things would get better. 

We all have 15 fingers and band-aid days in our lives here. But with love we can make it through them all.

When I was a young boy I was in a poor neighborhood as a foster ( 领养) child. I was1 to spend lots of time alone. I would often wander the neighborhoods on my own and2 to help rake (用耙子耙平) a yard, mow a lawn ( 割草), or wash some walls3 some pocket money just to buy some clothes or candy.

Once I knocked on the door of an elderly woman and asked if she needed her leaves raked in the yard. She asked why I was not in school and I4 her my torn trousers and shoes, which were5 and no longer keeping my feet warm and6 . And when I finished the work she gave me some7 . She said, "I want you to buy some trousers and new shoes and8 school. I also want you to come back and9 me with your report card and I will reward you when I see you have worked hard and have some good10 ."

I returned several times to see the woman in the corner house and she did just as she11 . She looked at my report card and gave me a handful of dollars and a sandwich every time I12 showed her I had an "A" or "B". And over the next couple of years, she continued to be this13 influence in my life as brief as it was and I never knew her name.

I was twelve years old when I moved from that neighborhood into a different home, with another family. I will of course never14 the huge difference this wonderful stranger made over my life with her15 . This is something I hope to do myself in this lifetime over and over again.

It began on a cold rainy day in an alley (小巷) outside Lagos. But 11-year-old Anthony Mmesoma Madu from Nigeria seemed 1 , dancing barefoot across puddles (坑), jumping, and turning around. His2 took a quick video, 3 it on social media, and went back to teaching.

Then the 4 of "likes" and "shares" filled these few simple seconds with the potential (潜力) of 5 a new life. Actress Viola Davis saw the video and 6 , "It reminds me of the 7 of my people. We create, soar, imagine, have great passion, and love...despite the difficulties that have been put in front of us. Our people can 8 !!!"

In the past few weeks, some 15 million people from around the globe watched, fascinated, as Anthony danced across the puddles. Thanks to this support, he received a 9 to study virtually with some of the world's best ballet dancers a at New York's American Dance Theatre.

Famous male ballet dancer Calvin Royal Ⅲ was also 10 by Anthony's dancing. He offered help and 11 Anthony and his classmates. He told the young dancers, "You are not only 12 your world there in Africa but you re changing the minds of many people.

Many people in Anthony's community have never seen a 13 dancing ballet before. He told BBC, "When my friends see me dancing, they are 14 ," ‘What is this boy doing? Is he doing a foreign dance?' Where I Where I live there are no male ballet dancers like me.

But now, his love of dancing is 15 for Anthony, his incredible teacher, his classmates, future Nigerian dancers as well as boys who love ballet.
