I want to buy a pair of sports shoes for a long time. I had spend months saving up the money to buy them and I finally had e  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Last Saturday my friend Jake wanted to buy a new CD, so we decided to go shopping together.

   We took the bus into town and it was very c {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, so we had to stand all the way.Jake and I were talking when I suddenly n {#blank#}3{#/blank#}that my bag was open and my purse had gone! The bus had just stopped and there was a boy near me who was going  quickly towards the door. We thought he had stolen my money so we got off the bus and f {#blank#}4{#/blank#}   him. The boy started running and then Jake ran after him shouting “Stop! T {#blank#}5{#/blank#} !” It was like a scene out of a film! A policeman saw what was going on and managed to get the boy.

   The embarrassing thing was that when the policeman s  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the boy, he didn't have my purse! He probably thrown it away before he was caught. The boy said we had made a mistake and we shouldn't blame（指责）him for the stolen purse. He explained that he had o  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}   started running because he was late for a meeting with friends. The policeman a  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}   him to go and I felt really stupid. I don't know whether he stole my purse or not as there was no proof（证据）. I wish I hadn't been so careless and had kept an e {#blank#}9{#/blank#} on my bag!

   I've lost my front door key and 60 pounds. I'm really fed up. Jake offered to lend me the money to buy the sports shoes, but I don't think it's f {#blank#}10{#/blank#}    to take it. It isn't his fault（过失）that I had my purse stolen!

    My family went to a restaurant for dinner one night. When we were walking to the restaurant from our car, a girl about my age and her mother c{#blank#}1{#/blank#} towards us. They asked if we had any m{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. My mum asked where they were l{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. The girl said there were six of them staying in an o{#blank#}4{#/blank#} black car.  My mum gave them a few dollars.  Then she sent me inside the restaurant w{#blank#}5{#/blank#} my dad and my three sisters. H{#blank#}6{#/blank#}, my mum didn't come. Later, I found out that she had gone h{#blank#}7{#/blank#} and put all the food in our cupboard into a few bags. Then she brought the food over to the car and gave the bags to the poor f{#blank#}8{#/blank#}. I wasn't there when that part happened, yet I could i{#blank#}9{#/blank#} the joy on their faces. After painting this picture in my mind, I understood w{#blank#}10{#/blank#} my mum had done what she did that night. I will never forget this lesson in kindness from my mum.

    Students at Shanming Middle School in Jiangsu often take part in activities{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (hold) by nearby communities. Does it sound fun? Well, students have mixed feelings. They enjoy the time outside school. But they don't find the activities  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (interest).

Why not design{#blank#}3{#/blank#}  (they) own activities? Some students got this idea and soon students joined the project.

     They first thought about activities ideas and listed them in an “activity menu”. They included: visiting science museums and companies; watching movies and basketball competitions.

    “The menu looked great, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  we soon found problems,” said Wang Ziming, one of the{#blank#}5{#/blank#}   (designer).

      First they needed a place to hold the activities. The students decided to talk to the local government to let them use the district stadium.

 “We first presented the benefits of these community activities to them,” said Wang. “ Then we promised we'd use the stadium {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  (careful ) and clean it afterwards”.

     The local government agreed that they could use the stadium and some sports equipment once{#blank#}7{#/blank#}  month.

     The students also designed a virtual (虚拟的) bank to encourage volunteering.

     Students{#blank#}8{#/blank#}   volunteered as librarians or cleaners would be rewarded with “gold coins”. A certain amount of coins gave you free entry to entertainment events such as{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (watch) a movie.

     Now, this special activity menu {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (become) popular in Wuxi communities. The students are happy with this.

    I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} for help. A stranger stopped his truck and came to help me. He put my bike in the back of his truck and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} me to the hospital. When my mother got to the hospital, she {#blank#}3{#/blank#}me a big hug. "I'm so glad you were {#blank#}4{#/blank#} your helmet "she said. She knew I was {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and did not always wear my helmet.

    Do you know the famous cartoon piglet (小猪) "McDull" ? He is not clever, but he has {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. McDull lives in a simple and happy way. He has a lot of dreams. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}is to visit the Maldives. But his mother doesn't have enough money for the trip there. So she tricks him by {#blank#}3{#/blank#}in Hong Kong. Because in Hong Kong there is a sign and it says "Go to the Maldives". It makes McDull very happy. He thinks he is really in the Maldives!

    McDull's dreams never {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. He tries again, but always fails. Anyway, he doesn't stop. He will get another dream soon. He lives his life in a good way. That's why the piglet is so popular! So, even you are not {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, you should always try your best!
