Once upon a time, two young men were spending some time in the countryside.One day,while taking a walk together,they crossed a large filed.

      “{#blank#}1{#/blank#} out!” one of the young men shouted,because a bear suddenly appeared and began to tun after them.They were very{#blank#}2{#/blank#} They run as fast as they could.But the bear kept running after them.
    Finally, one of the men climbed up a tree. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} jumped into a hole,but soon he came out of it.Immediaely the bear ran after him back into the hole.
    “Stay there!” his friend shouted, but soon he came out again,and again the bear ran after him right{#blank#}4{#/blank#} .This went on five or six more times.
     At last,the man in the tree got angry and shouted at his friend in the hole,”You fool !”Stay in the hole for a while,otherwise,this bear will keep us here all day!”
   “That's easy for you to say,”the other man said as he jumped one more time back into the hole.”But there {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to be another bear in this hole.”

       Nancy is from the USA but she   {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  in Shanghai now. She is 12 years old. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to Shanghai with her parents because they {#blank#}3{#/blank#} here. Her father {#blank#}4{#/blank#} English in her school and her mother is a doctor.

The Great Wall was made not only of stones, but millions of lives.We remained on the Great Wall for two hours.     It was an unforgettable trip.

    Nowadays, we are in a modern society. Everybody should be polite in public. But sometimes some people like to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in line when they buy tickets or get on the bus or subway. They take {#blank#}2{#/blank#}places as well as time when they are in line, so it is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. I can't {#blank#}4{#/blank#} that. Sometimes, I even get mad when I see them cut in line.

     When this {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, I often say, "Would you mind {#blank#}6{#/blank#}in line?" But sometimes some of them are angry {#blank#}7{#/blank#}me and they say, "It's none of your business." So I {#blank#}8{#/blank#}angrier. Then I only tell it to the people who sell the tickets. At last the people who are breaking the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}of etiquette(礼数) don't get their tickets. So I am happy and the people who cut in line are {#blank#}10{#/blank#}

    Children grow quickly, especially their feet. But many families, cannot a{#blank#}1{#/blank#} new shoes when a child needs them. As a result, about 300 million children around the world go barefoot. Those children risk picking up diseases and parasites（寄生虫）from the soil.

    An American man has a s{#blank#}2{#/blank#}． for those barefoot kids – a shoe that grows with the child. Kenton Lee is the creator of The Shoe That Grows. He explains how the shoe works and how it is able to last so long.

     “It grows in three places: the front, the side and the back with the child. It can last up to five years. The b{#blank#}3{#/blank#} is compressed（压缩的）rubber like tire rubber. The top is just high-quality leather.”

    The shoe comes in two sizes: small that fits children aged 4 to 9 and large for children aged 9 to 14. Lee says he got the idea for the shoe while working as a v{#blank#}4{#/blank#} in an orphanage in Kenya. “… and there was a little girl in a white dress walking next to me. And I just remember looking down and seeing how small her shoes were. And she had to c{#blank#}5{#/blank#} open the front of her shoes to let her toes（脚趾）stick out. At that time I just remember thinking, wouldn't it be nice if there were a pair of shoes that could grow with her feet?” However, Lee says it was i{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to turn his idea into a reality at that time. “Yet I kept writing down I should do this because of this or because of that. All these reasons why it really was important for me to try to make the shoes grow are to try to help them.” Finally, in 2009 Lee founded a non-profit organization called Because International. Together, they have sent over 50,000 pairs of shoes to 70 countries. Lee says a pair shoes gives a child self-worth and more chances to succeed b{#blank#}7{#/blank#} much protection.

    Pets are wonderful friends and they can always be around. They provide their owners {#blank#}1{#/blank#} love and comfort. Some animals do even more {#blank#}2{#/blank#} that. Service animals can help disabled (残疾的) people. Over 12,000 disabled people use service animals to{#blank#}3{#/blank#} them to live an easier life.

    Service animals are not pets. They have an important {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to do. We know pets can't get into business and public places, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} service animals can. They can visit restaurants, hotels and hospitals.

    The most well-known service animals are {#blank#}6{#/blank#} . They are Seeing Eye Dogs. A person, if there is something wrong with his eyes, needs this kind of dogs. These dogs must {#blank#}7{#/blank#} clever and kind. There are other kinds of service animals, too. If there is something wrong with his {#blank#}8{#/blank#} , he could keep a hearing cat to make him know noises around him. Service monkeys can get something for their owners, if their owners can't move.

    Animals {#blank#}9{#/blank#} our lives wonderful in many ways. Some animals help disabled people live an independent(独立的)life. Others give their owners comfort in a sad moment, or protect the owner when they are in danger. No matter what they do, animals are special friends. We should regard them {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a real friend.
