Dave is my best friend. His family is rich. His parents always give him lots of money. But Dave thinks his parents work very {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(hard) and it's not easy for them to make money, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he always tries his best to save money. He has some good {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(way) to do it.

    Dave likes {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(read). He has a lot of books. He tells me he often buys books online, because they're cheaper online {#blank#}5{#/blank#} in a shop. And when he has free time, he often goes to bookstores {#blank#}6{#/blank#} libraries to do some reading.

    Dave likes riding a bike. He usually goes to school {#blank#}7{#/blank#} bike instead of taking a bus. Sometimes when it rains or snows, he walks. These two ways help Dave keep in good {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(health) and save some money.

    I remembered that Dave {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(bring) a bottle of water to school every day when we were at school. When other students drank juice, he enjoyed his water. He said he could buy water most cheaply of all the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(drink).

    Tu Youyou, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} 84-year-old scientist,  became the first female (女性)Chinese to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (win) a Nobel Prize in science on Oct, 5. She {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (share) the 2015 Nobel Prize for medicine because {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the new medicine for malaria(疟疾). Tu was awarded （授予奖项）for "three firsts". She was the first to bring artemisinin(青蒿素) to her team,  the first to extract(提取) artemisinin that can stop malaria,  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the first to finish the experiment.

    She first tried the medicine on {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (she), because she wanted to make sure that it was safe (安全). "As the head of the group, I had the responsibility(责任)." The scientist spoke to CCTV about her work. Artemisinin is a gift for the world people. It has saved many people's {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (life). It comes from Chinese traditional medicine and now is a good way to treat malaria. Tu Youyou expects Chinese medicine to help {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (many) people all over the world. 

    We can learn a lot from Tu Youyou. We should do something useful for people. If we want to be {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (success), we should keep on {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (work) hard with our group and never give up.

    Many students ask for advice about improving their English. There are three basic questions.

    The first question is about real English. Li Hao from Hubei wrote, "I enjoy watching English films and listening to real English songs. But it takes a long time. What do you think?"

    This is a great way to learn English! Talk about the film or song with your friends, and guess the meaning of the new words. Just enjoy yourself！

    The second question is about speaking. Sam, from Suzhou wrote, "Our school has a foreign teacher. But I'm shy and can't speak to her. What should I do?"

    When I visit China, lots of people in the street say, "Hello! How are you? Where are you from? Do you like China?" These questions are quite simple, but they are good to start a conversation. Many people are shy when they speak English, so before you begin, take a deep breath and smile! Smiling always helps.

    The third question is about vocabulary. Olive, from Anhui wrote, "I want to remember all the new words. I wrote them down, but I forget them quickly, what should I do?"

    Try to remember eight or nine words a day. Write them on pieces of paper and put them in your bedroom. Say the words when you see them, and change them every day. And when you're shopping, how about counting the English words, or saying the English names for everything you see?

    My friend is Lily, she is really{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（有才能的）in music. I love music, too. We both like many kinds of{#blank#}2{#/blank#}（杂志） and we often study{#blank#}3{#/blank#}（一起）.Last year, her mother{#blank#}4{#/blank#}（去世）.She was very sad.
