I was 16 when one morning my father told me I could drive him into a village, about 18 miles away, on the condition that I take the car in to be serviced（保养）at a nearby garage（汽车修理厂）. Having just learned to drive and hardly ever having the 1  to use the car, I happily accepted. I drove Dad into the village and promised to  2 at 4 pm, and then drove to a nearby garage. Because I had a few free hours, I 3 to catch a couple of movies at a theater near the garage. When the last movie had finished, it was six o'clock. I was 4  hours late!

    I knew Dad would be 5 if he found out I'd been watching movies. I decided to tell him that the car had needed some repairs and that 6 had taken longer than expected, I drove up to the place where we had planned to meet and saw Dad waiting patiently. I said  7 and told him that I'd come as quickly as I could, but the car had needed some major repairs.

    "I'm disappointed that you feel you have to  8 to me, Jason."

    "What do you mean? I'm telling the truth."

    Dad looked at me again. "When you did not show up, I called the 9 .

    They told me that you had not yet picked up the car. So you see, I know there were no problems with the car." I had to confess (交代) to my trip to the movie theatre. Dad listened as a 10 passed through him.

    "I'm angry, not with you but with myself. I have failed 11 I have brought up a son who cannot even tell the truth to his own father. I'm going to walk home now and consider 12 I have gone wrong all these years."

    "But Dad, it's 18 miles to home. It's dark. You can't walk home." My words were 13 . Dad began walking along the dusty roads, silently, thoughtfully and 14. For 18 miles I drove behind him.

This was the saddest experience that I have ever had. It was also the most successful lesson. I 15 lied to my father after that.

It was Sunday afternoon. Maggie sat, putting her1 into the blue water of her family's new swimming pool. She had been expecting the pool for months.2 , she didn't feel so happy.

As soon as her mom asked what was wrong, Maggie replied, "Amelia is3 of the water. She doesn't know how to swim. I thought that 4 would be playing with me in the pool all summer. I5 Amelia. Nothing is as much fun without her."

"Why don't you invite her to6 ? Maybe we can help her feel 7 in the water. Remember how we taught your little brother to swim? Now, he swims like a dolphin." Maggie looked a little more8 . "You're right. I think I'll call Amelia right now." Later that afternoon, Amelia came with her dad. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" he asked. Amelia9 . "I think I'm ready to do this."

"I'm proud of you. I'll be back in a couple of 10 , okay?" said her dad. Amelia nodded again,11 she sat on the side of the pool.

All afternoon, Maggie and her mom worked with Amelia in the water. When Amelia's dad came to pick her up, everyone was surprised the time had gone so 12 .

"Watch this, Dad" shouted Amelia. "I can float on my back." She proudly showed him her new13 .

"This is amazing!" said Amelia's dad. "You two must be great teachers."

Maggie and her mom14 at each other. "I think Amelia was just ready to learn," said Maggie's mom. "She made up her15 to swim and did all the work herself"

"Can we come back tomorrow, Dad?" asked Amelia. Everyone laughed.

A young man with a large bag on his back came far away for a master(大师). He said, "Master, I feel so lonely(孤独的) and painful that the long trip makes me tired out. My shoes are worn out, my feet are cut, and my hands also hurt… Why can't my heart feel sunny?"

The master asked, "What do you put in your large bag?"

The young man said,"It is very important to me. Inside it I put the pain each time I fall, the tears(眼泪) each time I'm hurt, the trouble each time I feel lonely…Without it, I can't come here."

Then the master took the young man to the river where they crossed in a boat. On the other side of the river, the master said,'"Carry on with your journey, carrying the boat!"

"What? Carry the boat?" the young man was surprised. "It is so heavy. How can I carry it?"

"Yes, my kid. You can't carry it," the master just smiled and said. "When you cross the river, the boat is useful. But after crossing it, you will put down the boat and carry on. If not, it will become a burden (负 担). Pain, loneliness and tears — all these are useful to life. They can improve your life, but if you carry them all the time, they will become the burden to life. Put it down! Life can't bear(承受) a heavy burden."

The young man put down his bag and carried on. He walked easily and happily, and much faster than before.

This summer my family went on a trip to Stockholm. 

We took a train there. When we arrived in Stockholm, we {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(take) a bus to the hotel. We saw trees and flowers everywhere along the way. We felt like we were in a big forest.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} a lovely city!

The next day we visited the Vasa Museum. It's home to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} old ship— the Vasa. Nobody was {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(excited) than my son, because visiting museums is his favourite. There were many visitors in front of the museum. We waited {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a long time and felt a little tired. But {#blank#}6{#/blank#} we went into the museum, we were all surprised. The ship looked very cool and beautiful. 

The third day we went to a park in Stockholm. My son played with some{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (child) there. I talked with {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (they) parents. My husband watched a chess game. I thought it was the best way {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (feel) Stockholm!

It was a really {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (relax) trip. We all had a good time.
