    Ji Luyang, 13, from Jiangsu: This summer, I went for a budget trip(穷游) with my father to northern China. We took 2 instead of plane. Hard seat tickets were our 3 choice.  We were happy because we 4 the money for a hotel even though the time on the train was uncomfortable. After the trip, I have become an expert on saving money.

    He Zhuowen, 14, from Shanxi: The biggest thing for me this year is that I have made a new friend from Taiwan. Her name is Zou Mianzhi. She is of the 5 age as me. I learnt a lot about schools in Taiwan from Zou. For example, they take logic class andhome economics(家政) class, which are new to 6. Now we still talk about our lives by WeChat(微信) every day.

    Zhang Yaozhi, 14, from Shanghai: In 2014, I tried teaching for the first time in my life. It was

    7 of our school's community activities. Before, I thought it was easy,8 I was wrong. To prepare lessons, I had to 9 until midnight. From this experience I came to understand our teachers 10. It is really frustrating when you speak on the platform but nobody listens!

When I was in Grade 8, I had a heated argument(争吵)with my classmate, Tony．I have forgotten what the argument was about, but I have never forgotten the lesson I learned that day．

I believed that I was right and he was wrong, and Tony believed that I was wrong and he was right．Our teacher, a kind and smart lady, decided to teach us a lesson．She brought us to the front of the class and placed him on one side of her desk and me on the other．In the middle of her desk was a large and round object．I could clearly see that it was black．The teacher asked us what color the object was．"White，" Tony answered．I couldn't believe he said the object was white! "Clearly, it was black！" Another argument started between Tony and me, this time about the color of the object．

The teacher told me to go and stand where Tony was standing and told him to go and stand where I was standing．We changed places, and now she asked me what color the object was．I had to answer, "White．" It was an object with two differently colored sides — from his side it was white, while from my side it was black．"Boys, now, what do you say？" The teacher smiled at us．Tony has been my best friend ever since．

My teacher taught me a very important lesson that day: When you disagree with others, you'd better be in their shoes．That will help you look at the situation through their eyes, and truly understand their ideas and ways of thinking．

Many teenagers feel that the most important people in their lives are their friends. They believe that their family members，and in particular（尤其是） their parents，don't know them as well as their friends do. In large families，it is quite often for brothers and sisters to fight with each other and then they can only go to their friends for help. 

It is very important for teenagers to have one good friend or a circle of friends. Even when they are not with their friends，they usually spend a lot of time talking on the phone. This communication is very important in children's growing up，because friends can discuss something difficult to say to their family members. 

However，parents often try to choose friends for their children. Some parents may even stop their children from meeting their good friends. The question of "choice" is an interesting one. Have you ever thought of the following questions? Who chooses your friends? Do you choose your friends or your friends choose you? Have you got a good friend your parents don't like?

A group of graduates got together to visit their old university professor. During the visit, the conversation soon turned into complaints about 1 in work and life. Offering his 2 coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and 3 with a large pot of coffee and a variety of cups — porcelain(陶瓷), plastic, glass, crystal(水晶), some beautiful, some expensive, some 4 — telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When each of the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said, "If you have 5 , all the nice-looking expensive cups have been 6 , leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. It is 7 for you to want only the best for yourselves, but that is the 8 of your problems and stress."

Now consider this: 12 is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. 13 are just tools to hold and contain life, and the type of cups we pick has nothing to do with the life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we 14 to enjoy the coffee. Value the coffee, not the cups! Don't let the cups 15 you. Enjoy the coffee instead.

Today is Monday and it's 5:30 p. m. now. Alice and her brother Bob get home {#blank#}1{#/blank#}shool. "How is your school day, my children?" Mom asks.
