A CCTV journalist succeeded arousing a heated discussion among citizens by asking people whether they were happy. There were (variety) as to the responses, even some quite funny ones included. Although people played jokes on the answers, it did not take long they began to figure out the true meanings of happiness.

It is certain that people's views on happiness (affect) greatly by their own life experience. Unfortunately, too many people refer to being rich as happiness and there is no sign of decrease in the number of the people who are voluntarily at the mercy of wealth. Some people whose intention is to make big money appreciate (offer) any chance to multiply their income, believing that is their happiness lies. Some are eager to inherit(继承)their parents' property, especially those are known as silver-spoon kids(富二代). Even worse, some would rather break the law to satisfy their financial desire or seek their fortune (illegal).

In my opinion, we should make clear that happiness is not about pursuing wealth merely but about admiring the beautiful things in life. Therefore, live your life to the fullest and be happy.

One of my main concerns when I am helping people achieve their goals {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) how they measure success . I see individuals getting  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (frustrate) as they struggle hard for success.

The main reason is that people allow their definition of success to be determined by someone or something else. We should look at {#blank#}3{#/blank#} own skills to determine what is successful to us. We should look inwards to determine {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it would mean for us to be successful in our own mind.

Evaluating a successful person needs {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (look) at his pathway to success, his action and his{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (determine). You must set your own course of action, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} stay on your course. You alone must determine what success means to you. Do what you do to the best of your ability and the rest will take care of itself.

Here is the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (true). Being a success is doing your best, not being the best. Success is not something you become, but it is something you continue being.

When we get to that point, we will experience a lot more joy and a lot less depression. And that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sound) good to us!

Remember the great quote from Napoleon Hill, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} great way.”

阅读下面材料,在空白处填入适当的内容(1个单词)或括号内单词的正确形式。

Lasa Bailey took her gloves off when {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(take)her dog for a long walk on a winter day and didn't notice anything until that evening. She was shocked when she realized her beautiful anniversary ring was missing. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(hurry)back to look for it but couldn't find anything. Her husband kept going on a website where people sell jewelry,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} never found it.

All that changed, however, thanks to a recent Facebook post {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(write)on their local police department's page. A woman police officer posted, "If anybody knows of anybody losing a diamond ring, please contact us." One of her friends read it and wrote on it "Lisa Bailey".

The police station happened to find some unidentified {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(jewel)in a local pawn shop (当铺) and took them away. When Bailey learned from her friend that her ring might {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(find), she couldn't believe it.

The police called Bailey and asked her to describe it. She sent a picture of it to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} and then they asked if she could come to the police station. When the police officer in the station {#blank#}8{#/blank#} had written the Facebook post handed her the ring the next day  she was very thrilled and started to tear up. She could wear her anniversary ring home where it belongs {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (final) after three years' wait.

Bailey's husband had offered to replace the ring after it went {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (miss), but she refused because she thought it wouldn't be the same.
