    “Where is the university?” This is a question that many visitors to Cambridge(剑桥) ask. But no one can give  a clear answer, for there is no wall to be found   the university. The university is the city. You can find classroom buildings,  , museums and offices of the university all over the city. And most of its members are the students and of the thirty-one colleges.
    Cambridge was already a developing(发展中的) town long before the first students and teachers arrived 800 years ago. It grew up by the river Granta, and the river was once Cam. A  was built over the river as early as 875. So the town got its name “Cambridge”.

    In 1715 ,at fleet(舰队) of Spanish ships left Havana, Cuba for Spain. On their way home, they ran into bad weather. Eleven ships--along with{#blank#}1{#/blank#}of treasure they were carrying--were lost. About 1,000 people{#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

    For nearly 250 years, the sea kept most of the treasure to itself. Then, in the 1950s, a man found coins and some {#blank#}3{#/blank#} treasure on a Florida beach.
