China's Tea Villages

    In most Chinese tea villages, March is the time of year in {#blank#}1{#/blank#} locals start to pick and process tea. The usually quiet villages suddenly become busy centers of activity, as people take out special tools and prepare {#blank#}2{#/blank#} tea processing. In some villages, local residents hold traditional ceremonies,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (thank) heaven for its blessing. The price of tea {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(pick) in March is extremely high because {#blank#}5{#/blank#}is fresh, tender and contains multiple trace elements.

    China {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(be) famous for tea production since ancient times. Of the goods transported and traded along {#blank#}7{#/blank#}Old Silk Road linking China to the Middle East and Europe, the importance of tea was matched only by silk. China produces Oolong, black, green, white, yellow {#blank#}8{#/blank#}dark (aka post-fermented) tea. The Oolong, green and black {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(vary)are most notable for their high quality.

    Most of China's tea villages are found in remote mountainous areas in the country's south and southwest,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} the beautiful scenery is often hidden under clouds.

    Jane Goodall, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is famous for chimp research spent years {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (observe)and recording chimps' daily {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (behave). She discovered {#blank#}4{#/blank#} chimps eat are meat, fruits and nuts. She also discovered chimps can communicate with each other, and her study also can help chimps lead  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} safer as well as happier life.

    For forty years, Jane has tried her best {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (make) the world understand that wildlife is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (respect). She has argued that wild animals should {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (leave) in the wild instead of in the zoo.

    She said once she separated from chimps, all the memories would crowd {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. She remembered the chimps in labs and small chimps in cages though they had done nothing wrong. She will continue helping them. Her achievements are {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (inspire) for us to do more.

    Keeping a diary in English is one of the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(effect) ways to improve our English writing ability.

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(compare) with other forms of writing, it is shorter and takes less time. It can help us to develop the habit of thinking in English. If we persist in this practice, gradually we {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(learn) how to express ourselves in English. In keeping a diary in English, we certainly run up against many {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(difficult). In the first place, it often happens {#blank#}5{#/blank#} we have trouble finding and phrases to give expression to our mind. Secondly, there are many idiomatic ways of saying things in Chinese. And it is {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(extreme) hard for us to put them into English properly.

    As far as I'm concerned, my {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(recommend) is that we should always have a notebook and a Chinese-English dictionary {#blank#}8{#/blank#} easy reach. Whenever something beats {#blank#}9{#/blank#}, we can first put it down in our notebook and then consult our dictionary. We can also turn to our English teacher for help, if necessary. In {#blank#}10{#/blank#} word, I believe that it is of great use to keep a diary in English for the development of our writing skills.

    Today my topic is how {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (improve) our spoken English! Before we get {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (start), I would like very much to know how important you think spoken English {#blank#}3{#/blank#}! This is the basic question we have to figure {#blank#}4{#/blank#} before we solve our problems! Obviously, English is a language, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} makes it absolutely important to speak it out! As the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (say) goes, you learn to swim by swimming and you learn {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (drive) by driving. So, if you want your spoken English {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (improve), you have to catch every chance to speak {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (with) worrying about losing your face or making mistakes! You should always remember and tell yourself that "practice makes perfect"! With a little more confidence and hard work of practice, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} won't take you too much time to make progress in your spoken English!
