One day, there was a blind man called John sitting on the bench with a hat by his feet and a sign that read, "I am blind. Please help me.”
A creative publicist(广告员)named Tom was walking by the blind man and stopped to see that the man only had a few coins in his hat. He put a few of his own corns in the hat. Without asking for permission, took the sign, turned it around and wrote a new message. Then he put the sign by the feet of the blind man, and left.
   Later that afternoon the publicist returned to the blind man and noticed that his hat was almost full of bills and coins. The blind man recognized(识别)his footsteps and asked if it was he who had changed his sign. He also wanted to know what the man wrote on it.
The publicist said, "I just wrote the message a little differently.” He smiled and went on his way.
   The new sign read, "Spring has come, but I can't see anything.”

Which Is More Useful?

    Thomas is in Grade Two now. He goes to school from Monday to Friday. After school he must do some housework. He helps his parents on the farm(农场) on Saturdays and Sundays. So he doesn't have any time to play football in the daytime. He often plays with his friends in the moon(月亮).

    It's five in the afternoon. School is over. Thomas goes home and cooks for his family. After dinner he sees his friend Paul near his house and asks him to play football. The boy looks at the sky and sees the moon. Then he asks, "Which is more useful, the sun or the moon?"

    "I think the moon is," says Thomas. "We need light(光线) in the evening, but we can not see the sun, but the moon!"

    Mrs. White asks Monica, "Do you like to have a treasure hunt(寻宝游戏)?" "Yes, Mom," Monica says. Mrs White gives(给) her a green notes(便条). It says, "You can find books in it." Monica comes to the bookcase and sees a yellow note in it. It says, "You can sit on it."

    Monica comes to her bed, but she can't find a note. She comes to her chair and sees a red note. "You can put(放) your tape in it," it says.

    Monica comes to her tape player and sees an orange note next to it. It says, "Call 786-0987." Monica comes to the phone on the table and calls 786-0987. "Monica comes to the phone on the table and calls 786-0987." Hello? This is Aunt Maria."

    "Oh, Aunt Maria, my treasure is you!" says Monica.

Children's Day is next Sunday, but Dong Fei is not happy. Her father is in Beijing. He is very busy and can not come back to Nanjing. Now, Dong Fei is in her room with Lin Min, her cousin. Dong Fei says,"I don't think I'm important(重要的) to my father. He is always busy with his work. Next Sunday is Children's Day. But he can not come back."

The telephone rings and Dong Fei goes to answer it. It's from her father." Feifei, can you come to the airport(机场) at 4:00 next Sunday afternoon? I can be there for only an hour. I have something for you."

" Yes, Daddy! Yes!" says Dong Fei.

After Dong Fei puts down the telephone, her cousin says," Well, I think your father really loves you. What about you? Do you love him?"

" Yes." says Dong Fei.

" Well, do you know it's Father's Day today?" Liu Min says.

" Oh, what? I'm so sorry." says Dong Fei.
