If the eyes are the windows of the soul, then the body is the mirror of our feelings. If we are feeling great, we may give our body signals(信号). If we look at someone else's body, we can often tell how thy are feeling by their body signals. So reading body language signals is a great tool in daily communication.
In case(假使) you don't think that learning how to read and use body language is important, here are some numbers for you. 7% of the information we receive is from what people actually say, and 38% of the information we receive is from the tone(语气) and the speed of their voice, while 55% of the information we receive is from their body language.
These non-verbal(非语言的) signals will help you a lot, but you still need to focus on what people are saying. If you focus too much on their body language signals, you and the person may feel uncomfortable. It is useful to be able to read people's body language, but it is useful to learn how to send the right signals and avoid the wrong signals too. Body language may be given several interpretations. Many signals have different meanings, depending on the person and the situation. Be sure of it when you are trying to read a body language signal.
Facial expression is one of the body languages. Facial expressions are one or more movements on a person's face, such as frowning(皱眉),raising your eyebrows and rolling(旋转) your eyes. Scientists say that humans have 80 muscles(肌肉) on their faces. These muscles can make 7.000 different facial expressions. These expressions can be put into six classes. They are happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear and disgust(厌恶)。
For example, when people think a certain food tastes disgusting, they usually make a funny face. When people are surprised, they often raise their eyebrows and open their eyes wide.
If people can read facial expressions correctly, they may be better at knowing other people's feelings. That can help people make more friends. However, sometimes people have to be careful when reading others' faces. It's rude to stare at others for a long time.

举一反三

How do you talk with people when meeting them if you want to leave a good impression? Here a some tips for you/

Tip 1

You have to show up, which can be a challenge for many of us. You can show up as an observer(旁观者)of other interesting people and let that be a learning experience for you. Before you start talking, it's important to just listen, even if you think you are a wise storyteller. If you are close to a group of people who are discussing a topic, watch their body language and see if they will let you join in their conversation.

Tip 2

You'd better go in the conversation with a couple of topics to keep it going, or questions to ask if there is a short stop. Simple things like "How do you know the host?”and "How did you get here?” are always good conversation starters to a certain extent(在一定程度上).

Tip 3

Don't fear silences. Awkward(令人尴尬的)silences are common part of talking with people, just rush to fill them. If you don't want to go on with the conversation, just say you are going to get another drink or something to eat, and find another group to talk with.

Tip 4

Relax. If you cannot keep a conversation going, or you don't know what you should say next, give yourself a little time to clear your head. Relax, and then turn back into the discussion.

Music has always been an important part of Chinese people's life. People enjoy listening to music at home and in concerts halls. As time goes by, music changes.

Traditional music is part of our culture, so it often stays with us for a long time. Many of the traditional Chinese songs have been around for many years. Young musicians learn songs from older musicians and the music changes only very little. Modern Chinese music, which is loved by many young people, however, is mainly pop music. That means the songs will be popular for a short time and then replaced by new songs. Today's musicians write new songs every year and we hear new songs on the radio every day.

Before radio and TV were invented, music could only be heard live — that is you had to go places where musicians gave performances. The best musicians were very busy, so it was difficult and often expensive to hear really good music. For most people, the best chance to hear good music was during a festival or at a wedding. Today, people hear music all the time. Radio and TV play songs every day and night and you can even hear music played on the street.

One thing that hasn't changed very much is what the songs are about. Both modern and traditional Chinese songs are about love and life. Some songs tell stories about past and some are about the news or the future. All of the songs have something to do with what it means to be a human being.

Music, traditional or modern, Chinese or international, seems to be a world language that everybody can understand and enjoy. Music changes and styles come and go, but nothing changes our love for good music.
