On the first day of the New Year 2019，I made up my mind to go to Thailand to teach English as a volunteer. At the beginning, all I cared about was travelling and seeing the world. I didn't know how fantastic my life would be in the coming months!

    My journey began with attending TESOL certification(认证) course in my home state of Florida last February. After 3 weekends of study and another 40 hours' study online, I received my TESOL certificate.

    I was asked to contact Philip, who is Program Director of the Teach in Thailand. After discussing with Philip, I chose my school and after many months of excitement，I finally flew to Thailand in early April and I couldn't wait to explore the country!

    After a few weeks of single travel, I met up with Philip and the other new teachers in my program in Bangkok. It was great to meet other people who were on the same journey as me, see some cool sights and walk in Thailand's cities! After that, I attended the week­long seminar(研讨会). At the end of the seminar, I was transported to my school—Anuban Buriram Primary School.

    I truly love my job—I teach Grades 5 and 6 and I have the cleverest and most active kids in the world. It's a truly fantastic thing that you can see the difference you make in someone else's life, right in front of you!

    Buriram is a small city with green rice fields. People here are more friendly than anyone I've ever met—I've never been anywhere where a smile is so easily received，where everyone you pass is so friendly to say "Hello" and "Good morning". I've been taken out to countless dinners, and been lent a guitar, a camera, and I am given Thai treats and the most delicious fresh fruits many times a week. I only hope to repay them in the future.

    Mrs Brown lives in a small town in Australia. There is a big farm near the town.

    On Saturday morning, she goes to her small shop. She opens the window of the shop and looks at the Farm. It's very beautiful. There are many cows, horses and small animals on the farm. Suddenly she sees a Kangaroo with her baby. It's interesting to see them! The mother kangaroo is wearing an old jacket. They stand there and look hungry. Mrs. Brown gives some bread to them. The kangaroos get it. They become happy and jump away. Suddenly a wallet drops on the floor from the jacket pocket. She picks it up and finds $300 and a photo in it. That is a man's photo with his name "John" on it. "John? I have a brother. His name is also John," Mrs Brown says. "Is this man my lost brother?" she thinks.

    She takes the wallet with her and begins to look for the man. She asks many people in the town, and then she comes to the farm and asks the farmer. Hey! It is John, her lost brother. They are very happy to see each other.

Since my family has been ordering takeout a lot, I've met a lot of delivery workers (快). One of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (they) really impressed me. 

It was a cold and rainy day. My mother ordered a pot of chicken soup. Half {#blank#}2{#/blank#} hour later, a delivery worker's call came and I went out, picked up the food at the gate of our community. 

But just as I went back, I saw him standing in the heavy rain {#blank#}3{#/blank#} an umbrella. Rain ran down his face, arms and his uniform. He was in his 20s. "Chicken soup?" he asked. I {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (nod) and he pointed the food to me with shaking and watery {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (finger)

"Why didn't you leave earlier {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (find) somewhere to keep from the rain?" I asked. "I work to bring food {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (safe) to my customers. " He said, smiling. Then he turned around and disappeared in the rain. The cold rain kept falling, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} something special rose in my heart. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} warm I felt at that time!

There are many common people like him who work hard every day. Their jobs are even {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (important) and they make our life more convenient. 

19- year- old Guo Wei comes from Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province. Now she is 1 in London as an exchange (交换) student. She lives with the Smiths. Mr and Mrs Smith are 2 to Guo Wei. Mr Smith is a teacher. He likes to tell her about 3 history and culture after dinner. Mrs Smith is good at 4 . She can also make some Chinese food for Guo Wei.5 , Guo Wei couldn't get used to (习惯) the English way of life. Now she gets to 6 the differences. She finds British people also have the 7 of drinking tea— afternoon tea. 

In fact, the tradition of afternoon tea is8 of British culture. Drinking tea became popular in England 9 the1660s. In the early 19th century, the idea of "afternoon tea" first 410 . By the1880s, afternoon tea became very popular with rich ladies in Britain. Afternoon tea is in the mid- afternoon, between 11 and dinner. It is not just a drink but a light meal. To her 12 , British people usually drink tea with milk. Guo Wei,13 , doesn't like drinking tea in that way. Now she is telling Mr and Mrs Smith about tea culture in her home town. 

"Chinese people began drinking tea over5, 000 years ago. And Hangzhou is 14 as the capital of tea. As one of China's top 10 famous teas, the West Lake Longjing tea from Hangzhou 15 a history of more than 1, 200 years. To most people in Hangzhou, tea is an important part of their way of life."

After hearing what Guo said, the Smiths hope to visit Hangzhou some day.
