 It's a common school day at Southern Cross School near the famous Kruger National Park in South Africa. Teachers and pupils don't sit in a classroom. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}   , they go through the forest or sit under the trees.

The school teaches students all the same s  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  as the rest of the country's schools, but the teaching methods are completely different. Southern Cross uses nature as a teaching tool. The teachers and their pupils go out into nature and work with animals and plants. These can be used to study a  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} from maths and social sciences to languages. The school is in an area where animals live wild and can be hunted. To get to class, students travel a road through the forest that wild animals use as well.

 The classroom for small preschoolers is a little different from the rest of the school. For example, the first lesson of the day is maths, but the teaching method is very s  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  .In this school you won't hear a teacher saying “Count how many apples Jane has in her basket.”Actually, the children visit a nearby river to count the number of marks left by animals. This way they can see how many different animals come to d   {#blank#}5{#/blank#}   during the night.

 The students are encouraged to take care of the injured and small animals. If they find a dead animal in the area, they study where the animal fits in the foot chain and how and why it d  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}   .

The headmaster says, “We must make people understand what we are doing to do for the e {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  . We need to care for our planet.”

   Do you know this story? {#blank#}1{#/blank#}July 11 of every year, a local office of Project Hope receives a donation from a person{#blank#}2{#/blank#}  Xu Qin. But investigation (调查) shows that Xu Qin died in1994.
   Xu Qin was Liu Wenzhen's youngest daughter. She died in a traffic accident on July 11, 1994. Ever since, Liu Wenzhen has been in the habit of making a donation {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Project Hope on that date to commemorate (纪念) her daughter's death. 
   What has Mrs Liu done is simply helping to{#blank#}4{#/blank#}her daughter's dream. “I have always dreamed{#blank#}5{#/blank#}  becoming a teacher in the countryside because that is{#blank#}6{#/blank#}  my father lived,” Xu Qin once said.
   Project Hope is built to {#blank#}7{#/blank#}children to be able to go to school. Many people make a commitment to the project all over the world. In China the project began in 1985.
   As a student, we can also do {#blank#}8{#/blank#}to support this project. We may save our money and donate it to Project Hope. Maybe we can teach those children{#blank#}9{#/blank#}  can't go to school some day. We can also {#blank#}10{#/blank#} others to do something for the project.

    Xiao Ming felt very unhappy those days, because he {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (失败) in the final English exam. He made so many {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (错误) that he was {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (害怕) of meeting his English teacher and his parents.     As Paul walked home, he thought of what Mrs. Green said. When Paul got home, he called his dad. But there was no answer. Then it went to voicemail (语音信箱).     There is a big zoo in our city. In the zoo you can see many animals. Look! There is a big {#blank#}1{#/blank#}monkey there.
