On Sunday morning, Mark, Rose and I take a bus to go {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Now we are in the shop. We'd like {#blank#}2{#/blank#} something for a picnic. We want buy three {#blank#}3{#/blank#} of water and some {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. We don't have bags, so we need to buy some new{#blank#}5{#/blank#} . Then we can take the food to the hill.

FAJTHFUL（忠诚的）TO DEATH

    Some time ago, a fire broke out(爆发) in a building late at night. Nearly all the families were s{#blank#}1{#/blank#} inside the house. After the firemen came, they rushed into the burning building and saved the people to the safe p{#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

    The crowds thought a{#blank#}3{#/blank#} the people were safe. But it was not so. Two little orphan （孤儿) girls were still asleep alone at the very top of the building, in a small room. N{#blank#}4{#/blank#} thought of them. Luckily, they lived with a dog.

    The dog tried to wake them up, but f{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. He ran to the window and barked(吠叫) loudly for help. B{#blank#}6{#/blank#} no one noticed him. Then he climbed down the ladder (梯子) and tried to pull a fireman to the ladder. The fireman kicked him away, thinking he was mad. Then the dog ran to a{#blank#}7{#/blank#} fireman, jumped on him, ran to the ladder, barking all the time and looking back as if he was asking the fireman to follow him.

    This fireman realized there must be someone in the little room, as the dog was acting so strangely. So he followed the dog u{#blank#}8{#/blank#} the ladder, there he saw the two girls and saved them.

    Where was the d{#blank#}9{#/blank#}? A brave fireman rushed into the room to look for him and found him lying near the window, choked (窒息) with smoke. He brought him down with care, but he was already d{#blank#}10{#/blank#}. He had given his life for his friends. What a faithful friend!

    For this month's Young World magazine, I interviewed 19-year-old Asian pop star Candy Wang. Candy told me that she used to be really shy and took up singing to deal with her {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(shy). Now she's not only shy anymore and enjoys {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(sing)in front of crowds.

    I asked Candy how life was different after she became famous. She explained that there are many good things, like being able {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(travel)and meet new people all the time. “I didn't use to be popular in school, but now I get tons of attention everywhere I go.” {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(however), too much attention can also be a bad thing. ”I always have to worry about how appear to others, and I never dare to be {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(care) about what I say or do. And I have much {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (little) private time now because there are always guards around me.”

    What does Candy have to say to all {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(that) young people who want to become famous?”Well,”she begins {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(slow),”you have to be prepared to give up your normal life.You can never imagine how difficult the road to success is. Many times I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(think) about giving up, but I fought on. You really require a lot of talent and hard {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(work) to succeed. Only a very small number of people make it to the top.”

    Joe is thirteen years old and he has a happy family. People like {#blank#}1{#/blank#} because he is kind to others. He often writes down their likes and dislikes. So he can {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (buy) presents for them on their birthdays. All his family members like Joe's {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (present).

    Joe's mother is a manager {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a theatre. Her favourite {#blank#}5{#/blank#} is red, so Joe often buys her things in red. His father is a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (drive). He likes {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (read) and Joe often buys him new books. Anna is Joe's sister. She is only eight {#blank#}8{#/blank#} old. She is a student in Grade Two. She doesn't like math because she thinks {#blank#}9{#/blank#} is difficult. Joe often helps her with math. He plays math games {#blank#}10{#/blank#} Anna. Soon Anna likes math and now she learns math well.

    I believe there are many things that we can do to make life in our town a lot better for teenagers.

    First of all, I think more bike lanes should {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (build). A lot of teenagers in my town bike everywhere, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it's very dangerous because there is a lot of traffic. If there are more bike lanes in the future, it will be much {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(safe) for us.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (two), I believe that we need more places for teenagers to go to. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my opinion, teenagers won't cause problems in the street if there are more places for us to go to. So we need more {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (club) and other places where we can meet.

    Thirdly, teenagers here need more sports facilities. There {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) places to play ball games so far like tennis and basketball, but what about other sports, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} skating and rollerblading?

    Finally, I'm sure we'll make the town better {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we don't drop litter. If we all do something {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(help) now, our town will be much better for everyone in the future.
