Your mother makes your meals. She helps you with your homework. If you get sick, she stays with you all day and {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Your Mother is always there for you. That's why there is a special day for the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (world) mothers. This year it was {#blank#}3{#/blank#} 10th.

    Mother's Day became a modern holiday about 100 years{#blank#}4{#/blank#} in the US. A woman called Anna Jarvis and her mother, Anna Reese Jarvis, were{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(live) in a poor town. They worked hard to make the town{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (well). Jarvis' mother died on Wednesday，May 14, 1905. Their church hold a Mother's Day to thank {#blank#}7{#/blank#} for the help she gave the town three years later.

    Today, people in more than forty{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(country) celebrate the day. They give their mothers carnations (康乃馨)and other presents.. In the language {#blank#}9{#/blank#} flowers, carnations mean happiness,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (sweet) and love.

    Armie, Martin, Nora and William were camping out with their parents. They would be living in the cabin by the lake {#blank#}1{#/blank#} three days, and the children were very excited.

    When they got to the lake, they were amazed(惊讶的) at the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(beautiful) of the lake. The cabin stood in the middle of the trees.     The next morning, they woke to the sound of birds. They {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(run) to the window to have a look.  Birds of all shapes and sizes were flying around busily, looking for their breakfast. The children were happy during their camp and they made their parents {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(agree) that they would return the next year, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the cabin by the lake.
