Today is December 12th, 2023. It's a good day for1 in China. I'm glad to go to Wanda Plaza (广场)2 my family. First, we go to the3 . My brother needs a shirt. "4 do you want?" the saleswoman asks. "White," "We have really nice white5 . How about this one?" My brother thinks it's too6 , "Look at this one. It is big." says the saleswoman, "you can7 ". My brother8 it and he buys it. My father buys a9 of sports shoes in the next store. After that, we go to Walmart Supermarket. My mother buys some vegetables.10 ¥16.00. I buy a notebook11 my good friend, Tom. It's only (仅仅) ¥ 3.00. And we like eating apples, so we buy two boxes of apples. Finally (最后), we go back home happily and we have a12 day!

Grandparents called me one day. They asked me to spend my vacation with them. They lived in a village. It was quiet and cool in summer. I was very happy and thanked them. I told them to go when my summer vacation began. 

It was July 15th. My parents took me to the supermarket and we bought some delicious food for my grandparents. The next morning dad took me to the train station. It was the first time for me to have a trip by myself. But I wasn't afraid and felt relaxed. The train left at eight twenty. I looked out of the window and found it was beautiful outside. I wasn't tired at all. At three twenty in the afternoon I arrived at the station. I saw my grandpa standing outside. I got off the train and ran to him. He was happy when he saw me. His village was about two kilometers from the station. We got there by bus. There were lots of trees and flowers around it. The village looked very beautiful. 

It is good to give friends or parents something on their birthdays. It is Bob's mother's birthday today. Bob wants to give his mother something surprising, but he doesn't have much money, "I know what I'll do," says Bob. "I'll give her something different." At last, he gives his mother a piece of article (文章) in China Daily. When his mother sees his name "Bob Smith", she smiles. Bob writes an article about his loving mother, and it comes out in China Daily! His mother says it is the best present she has received in her life.

Billy Ray Harris was homeless. He spent each day on the streets of Kansas City, begging for money or food. Every day, as he sat thinking about his life, he occasionally heard the sound of a coin or two coming into his cup. One day, the noise was louder than usual. If Billy had looked up, he'd have seen a young lady on her way to work. But he didn't. Later when he looked into the cup, he could hardly believe what he saw. At the bottom was a shining diamond ring.

Billy's first thought was to go straight to a jeweller's(珠宝店) and that's exactly what he did. To his amazement, he was offered $4,000. Billy thought long and hard. Was this a mistake? It was more money than he'd seen in a long time. But then he thought about his grandfather, who had brought him up always to do the right thing, and knew he had to reconsider. His mind was made up. He'd keep the ring and maybe one day its owner would return.

Two days later, a young woman came while he was begging. She introduced herself as Sarah Darling and asked if he'd found anything unusual in his cup. Billy reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring. When he saw the smile on her face, he knew he'd made the right decision. She explained when putting the coins into his cup, she'd forgotten putting her ring in her purse.

But the story doesn't end there. Sarah told her husband the story and wanted to post it on the Internet. He thought it was a good idea. They also called on raising money for Billy. They had more than $185,000. Billy Ray Harris no longer spends his days begging. He has a home and a job. The story also made the local news and he was reunited with his two sisters, who he hadn't seen for 16 years. If he hadn't done the right thing, he wouldn't have seen his sisters again.

There is a popular (受欢迎的) club at Sunshine Middle School. It's the Cooking Club. Students call it the "fun club". More and more students spend their Tuesday afternoons at the club. 

Many parents don't think cooking skills are important. They don't let their children cook at home. In fact, the kitchen is a learning lab for students. Joining the Cooking Club is a good way for them to learn different skills and feel good. 

First, students can learn how to cook. When their parents are not at home, they can take care of themselves. 

Second, students can take their food home and share it with their family. They will have a sense of achievement. 

Third, the teachers in the club teach students not only how to cook but also the science behind the food they eat. They will learn a lot about how to eat healthily. 

Last, students can practise basic Maths skills like counting and measuring, they also learn social (社交的) skills by working together and making friends.
