One day , when I was working in a toy shop in {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(法国), a girl came in with some{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(硬币) in her hand. She was such a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(可爱的) girl and she told me that she wanted to buy a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(模型) car for her brother because he had been ill {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(自……以来) he was born. Her brother was in poor health , so she wanted a toy car to make him happy. She thought if her brother got one, {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(可能) he would be all right.  I told her the price and she {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(数) her money. But unluckily she couldn't {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(买得起) the car. She looked so sad that I decided to help her. I gave her the car without money. She was very surprised and couldn't help {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(笑) happily. She thanked me and left. Of course I was very {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(自豪的) of myself because I did a good job.

    On the first day of school, the new teacher had a look at the name list of students. How {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (please) she was!

    Guess what she found? After each student's name, there was a number {#blank#}2{#/blank#} 138,140, 154 and so on.

    "Look at these high IQ(智商) students," she thought to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (she). "They've given me a wonderful class!"

    As {#blank#}4{#/blank#} result, the excited teacher worked {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (hard) with this class than with her other classes. She tried some new {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (teach) ways. She thought these ways would cheer the students {#blank#}7{#/blank#} hold their interest. She was right. It worked well! The class did much {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (well) than any of her other classes.

    Later, however, she found out the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (true), the number after each name did not mean the IQ, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}the number of his or her clothing box in the school.

    Helen is in Grade Eight. She smiles at everyone and she's always glad to help others. But do you know she had a sad story?

    Helen's parents died in {#blank#}1{#/blank#}fire when she was nine years old. After that, her aunt and uncle adopted(收养) her. They sent her to a new school. In that school, Helen{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(know) nothing about her new classmates. She didn't talk too much and she was{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(shy)and quieter than most kids. That made{#blank#}4{#/blank#}difficult for her to make friends, so she had few friends at school. Her aunt and uncle worried about her.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(lucky), Helen met a funny girl named Sandy. After making friends{#blank#}6{#/blank#}Sandy, Helen became more outgoing{#blank#}7{#/blank#}before. Sandy usually tells jokes to make her laugh and Helen often helps Sandy with her studies. Now they are good friends.

    Helen is really hard-working and she always{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(get) A's in her subjects. Sandy says, "Helen studies very hard. She often helps me with my homework. Now I'm getting better{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(grade) with her help{#blank#}10{#/blank#}she is different from me, I like her very much.
