Black Spider（蜘蛛）was having trouble catching bugs（臭虫）in his web, while Grey Spider caught two bugs in his.

    “You are so lucky,” Black Spider said to Grey Spider. “You have two bugs while I have none. It's not fair(公平的).”

    “Everyone has lucky days and unlucky days. Let's eat the bugs together,” said Grey Spider.

    Black Spider decided to join Grey Spider for lunch.

    “You must do some special things to get lucky, is it magic?” Grey Spider whispered.

    “No, build your web!” said Black Spider. “Repair your web! Enlarge your web! Make your web wider!”

    “Is that all?”

    “Yes, build a new web!” said Grey Spider.

    After lunch, Black Spider went back and made a new web. He built his web wider. Once he was done he slept all through the night because he was very tired.

    In the morning, Black Spider was excited to see four bugs in his web. He told Grey Spider about it. Grey Spider smiled at Black Spider. “By enlarging your web, you have enlarged your possibility to catch all these bugs,” Grey Spider said. “There is chance all around us. Luck is everywhere. You need to work to make it so more good luck comes your way.”

    Alex, Nicole and Vickie are friends. They live in the same neighborhood. They want to make some money to buy Christmas presents.

    "We need to print out fliers（传单） and pass them around to all the houses, "says Nicole. Alex's dad helps them print out fliers. The three friends go to all the houses and put a flier in everyone's mailbox.

    "It's winter," says Vickie. "There is lots of snow on the ground. Maybe people will need us to sweep the snow for them."

    First, Mrs. Jones hires the children to sweep the snow from her driveway（车道）. She says, "I have twin baby girls. I am much too busy to sweep the snow myself."

    Then, Mrs. Smith calls them. She says, "I am very old, and the snow is much too heavy for me to move."

    Then, Mr. Lee visits them. He says, "My garden is much too big to sweep all by myself. Can you help me?"

    The children work very hard sweeping the snow. It is cold, but they also have great fun. They make 30 dollars in all. Now they can buy nice Christmas presents for their friends and families.

    Nick was born with no arms or legs. There was only a small foot on his hip(臀部). He can't do the easiest things like washing his face or brushing teeth, but he can type, pick things up between his toes (脚趾)and even kick a ball.

    Nick grew up in Melbourne, Australia. He wasn't happy at school because his classmates often laughed at him. At the age of 10, he even wanted to kill himself. But later, he changed.     Maybe we three were the most unlucky graduates in our school history. I'll never forget the day when we had our graduation ceremony(毕业典礼).

    I was known for being careless. I often fell down for no reason.     Tiffany was the most beautiful girl of us three. She loved all kinds of dresses. On that day, she dressed herself beautifully and wanted to have some beautiful photos. Unluckily, it was one of the windiest days of our life. The wind blew her beautiful dress up in front of the whole graduate class! She didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
